Job summary

Cymer, ASML’s light source division, is seeking a Technical Support Engineer to optimize advanced laser systems used in semiconductor manufacturing. Based in San Diego, you will collaborate with customers, field service teams, and engineering partners to resolve complex technical issues.

You will monitor performance, analyze data, and provide guidance during escalations, with travel and after-hours support as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or related field.
• 8+ years in excimer laser, semiconductor equipment, or field service.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering preferred.
• Experience diagnosing/excimer lasers or similar systems.
• Knowledge of DUV photolithography, imaging, metrology, or beam delivery.

Responsibilities

• Analyze laser performance data and discuss findings with field service engineers.
• Troubleshoot complex laser, optical, electronic, software, and mechanical issues.
• Provide guidance during customer escalations and investigations.
• Collaborate with customers and engineering teams to define problems and solutions.
• Evaluate trends, identify bottlenecks, and suggest improvements.
• Document findings with reports, visuals, and presentations.
