Job summary

Walbridge seeks a Superintendent to lead supervision of craft activities on major facility construction projects. The role travels across US client sites and coordinates with engineering, estimating, and planning groups to align methods, schedules, and safety standards.

The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of supervisory experience in similar project environments, a strong mechanical background, and a track record of delivering $50M+ scopes on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 8 years of supervisory experience in facility construction.
• Strong mechanical background and Data Centers experience preferred.
• Experience with commercial or industrial project scopes of at least $50M.
• Valid US driver’s license and willingness to travel 70%+

Responsibilities

• Plan and supervise Equipment Start Up and commissioning process, and craft activities, including determining construction methods, workforce levels, material quantities, equipment, and schedules.
• Maintain liaison with Material Control, Purchasing, Quality Control, and Engineering to ensure materials, inspections, and schedules are aligned.
• Coordinate assigned work with different crafts, company departments, or other contractors.
• Assist Labor Relations in maintaining communications with unions and resolving jurisdictional disputes; monitor safety and ensure corrective actions.
• Lead and mentor cross-functional teams to resolve productivity and interface challenges and ensure project success.

Overview

Walbridge is looking for Superintendents that know how to and love to build! Schedule, coordinate and supervise craft employee activities. May involve supervising one or more trade groups (electricians, boilermakers, carpenters, etc.) working in particular construction discipline (civil, structural, electrical).

Location

You can belocatedanywhere in the US, if you are highly willing to travel to our client projects on a long-term basis.

Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities:

• Resource Management: Planand superviseEquipmentStart Up and Commissioning process,Assistant Superintendent (on larger projects)and/or craft activities such as,determiningmethod of construction, workforce levels, material quantities equipment, temporary power sources, work schedule and documenting actual hours worked.Maintain liaison with other departments such as Material Control,Purchasing, Quality Control, and Engineering to ensure all required materials, equipment, inspections, support craftactivitiesand projectschedules.

• Project Planning and Strategy:Coordinate assigned work withthe workof different crafts, company departments, or othercontractors.

• Risk Management:Assistthe LaborRelations Department inmaintainingcommunications with unions, resolving jurisdictional disputes, requisitioning required workforce, and as necessary the labor approach for the projects assigned.Monitor craft compliance with project safety program requirements; document and ensure corrective measures areimplemented.

• Team Leadership:Maintainliaison with engineering, estimating, and planning to ensure workcomplies withdrawings, specifications, and schedule.Experienceassistingin resolving construction problems such as lack ofproductivityand work interfaces isrequired.

Qualifications

Toqualifyfortherole,youmusthave:

• Minimum of 8yearssupervisory experience in similar facility construction technology, methods, equipment, tools, and work proceduresrequired.

• StrongMechanicalbackground in DataCenters’experienceispreferred.

• Titles by discipline mayinclude,TechnicalSuperintendent, Mechanical Superintendent,orElectrical Superintendent.

• Advanced understanding of construction scheduling, costcontrolanddemonstratedability to control and supervise largegroups.

• Prior experience with Commercial or Industrial project scopes of at least $50M value.

• A valid driver’s license in the USrequired;and willingness and ability to travel; travel is estimated at 70+%.

• Excellent communication and organizational skills to coordinate with cross-functional teams andstakeholders.

• Strong history of leading,motivatingand mentoring cross-functional teams.

• Strong knowledge of construction processes, laws, standards, and regulations.
