Job summary

Walbridge is seeking a Construction Superintendent to lead large-scale projects across the United States. You will oversee the full project lifecycle from feasibility to completion, develop strategies, plans, and budgets, and assemble qualified project teams.

You will schedule, coordinate, and supervise craft employees (electricians, boilermakers, carpenters) across multiple disciplines, ensuring safety, quality, and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• 8+ years supervisory experience in facility construction technology, commercial or industrial projects.
• Experience on Commercial or Industrial projects with budgets of at least $15M.
• Valid US driver’s license and a valid passport; willingness to travel; travel ~70%.

Responsibilities

• Plan and supervise construction activities, determine methods, manpower, materials, equipment, and schedules; ensure work complies with drawings, specifications, and schedules.
• Coordinate work with different crafts, departments, or contractors; resolve construction problems and maintain communication with unions.
• Monitor safety programs; ensure materials, equipment, and inspections support project schedules.
• Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and address concerns.
• Track project progress through metrics and adjust plans to meet changing requirements or challenges.
• Ensure all deliverables meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.
• Continuously seek process improvements through innovative technologies or methodologies.

You can be located anywhere in the US, if you are highly willing to travel to our client projects on a long-term basis.

Responsibilities

• Your key responsibilities
  • Project Planning and Strategy: Plan and supervise construction activities, including determining methods, manpower, materials, equipment, and schedules. Ensure work complies with drawings, specifications, and schedules.
  • Team Leadership: Coordinate work with different crafts, departments, or contractors. Resolve construction problems and maintain communication with unions.
  • Resource Management: Monitor compliance with safety programs and document corrective measures. Ensure materials, equipment, and inspections support project schedules.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate with internal and external stakeholders, including executives, clients, and vendors, to ensure alignment and address any concerns.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track project progress through metrics and reporting, adjusting plans as necessary to meet changing requirements or challenges.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that all deliverables meet the required quality standards and compliance regulations.
  • Innovation and Improvement: Continuously seek ways to optimize processes and improve project outcomes through innovative technologies or methodologies.

Qualifications

• To qualify for the role, you must have
  • A high school diploma or equivalent, and eight (8) + years supervisory experience in similar facility construction technology, commercial or industrial projects.
  • Must have experience working on Commercial or Industrial projects with budgets of at least $15M.
  • A valid driver’s license in the US and a valid passport required; willingness and ability to travel; travel is estimated at 70+%.

Ideally, you’ll also have

• Advanced understanding of construction scheduling, and cost control.
• Experience supervising, motivating and mentoring cross-functional teams.
• Successful background maintaining high safety standards and delivering quality outcomes.
