Job summary

Performance Systems Development (PSD) is seeking a Technical Specialist to join the Program Delivery Team in the greater Seattle area. The role is field-based, customer-facing, and essential to maintaining program integrity and client satisfaction.

As a Technical Specialist you will perform QA inspections on new homes, coordinate weekly inspection schedules with trade allies, report progress, provide technical assistance to HERS Raters and builders, verify submittals, review energy savings

Qualifications

  • Passion for energy efficiency and sustainability in new construction.
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently with keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all types of people and explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Building science background with energy efficiency certifications (RESNET/HERS Rater, HERS Modeler, RFI, BPI Building Analyst) and/or related areas.
  • A minimum of six (6) months hands-on field experience in energy auditing, construction, or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct QA inspections on new homes, collecting data including blower door testing, duct testing, health and safety testing, and other measurements.
  • Coordinate with program trade allies to schedule each week’s inspection schedule.
  • Report on inspection progress and issues encountered during inspections.
  • Provide technical assistance and support to HERS Raters, home builders, and other program participants/stakeholders.
  • Verify project submittals comply with program policies and procedures.
  • Review energy savings calculations and project specifications and manage records in the program database.
  • Recruit program trade allies.

Additional Details


  • Physical Demands:Frequent computer use requiring periods of sitting and close audio-visual concentration. Be able to lift diagnostic testing equipment (blower door, etc., up to 50lbs).


  • Work Environment:Field work is performed both outside and inside of buildings in varying weather conditions. Field work will include accessing attics, basements, crawlspaces, and other locations associated within the built environment


  • Travel Requirements: Daily travelrequiredwithin the program territory, with occasional overnight stays as needed.
