Job summary

Hyphenate is hiring its first in-house sourcer in New York to fuel our Series A growth. You’ll build a consistent pipeline of exceptional software engineers and help create a scalable sourcing program that reduces reliance on agencies.

You’ll own the process from talent research and personalized outreach through conversations and handoff to the hiring team, combining research instincts with outstanding communication.

Qualifications

• 3–7 years of technical sourcing or recruiting experience, including hands-on sourcing for early-stage startups.
• Sourced software engineers across experience levels, including senior and staff engineers.
• Built and managed outbound campaigns, candidate pipelines, and talent CRM workflows.
• Worked closely with founders or engineering leaders to translate hiring needs into focused searches.
• Developed excellent written and verbal communication skills—you can write compelling outreach and confidently pitch an early-stage company.

Responsibilities

• Build targeted talent pipelines in collaboration with founders and hiring managers.
• Run outbound sourcing across channels (LinkedIn Recruiter, sourcing platforms, referrals, communities).
• Write outreach that earns a response with personalized messages.
• Reach 50–100 newly shortlisted candidates daily and manage 75–100+ daily cold-email sends.
• Lead initial conversations and articulate Hyphenate's mission and engineering challenges to candidates.
• Maintain organized candidate databases with clear records of outreach, engagement, and fit.
• Find new sources of talent through meetups, partnerships, and events in New York.
• Track results and refine the sourcing engine based on feedback.
