Job description

Technical Solutions Manager

The Technical Solutions Manager is responsible for leading the technical discovery function, which focuses on exploring client challenges and possible solutions, then relaying the client needs to the Technical Recruitment team to ensure qualified candidates. The Technical Solutions Manager works closely with Sales, Recruiting and Operations leadership to maintain consistent and accurate information sharing between the departments. This role also oversees a variety of partnerships and processes that are a result of the Technical Call process. The Technical Solutions Manager role requires strong change leadership experience, insight into efficient process development, a passion for manufacturing, and staying abreast of industry position and compensation trends.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Oversees and conducts technical calls in which the Technical Solutions team meets with current and prospective clients to better understand their labor needs, position requirements and unique skill sets.
  • Customizes technical call questions as they relate to specific client challenges and needs.
  • Works closely with Sales Leadership to understand the sales process and identify new ways the technical call process can drive sales results and growth in deployed Technicians.
  • Works closely with Technical Recruiting Leadership to understand recruiting process and candidate market to identify new ways the Technical Recruiting and Technical Recruiting Team can collaborate to drive Technical Recruiting results and growth in deployed Technicians.
  • Manages the Technical Solutions team to ensure success within their role and function within the sales, recruiting and operations support via the tech call process.
  • Drives process innovation and change management to ensure the technical process is evolving at the same pace as the teams that interact with Technical Resources.
  • Designs and implements a recruiting and sales enablement strategy aligned with the company's sales objectives and overall business goals.
  • Partners with the Engineering Team to collaborate on process improvements and ensure consistency across the technical call process.
  • Partners with the Sales team to meet client expectations and deliverable timelines to keep the sales process moving forward.
  • Delivers detailed notes from the technical call, as well as sample profiles and pay rates for positions to Sales team, within the deliverable timeline expectations.
  • Delivers a list of keywords specific to the client needs to be used by Technical Recruiting Team to identify candidates, load orders and write job ads to effectively fulfill orders for skilled manufacturing technicians.
  • Partners with Sales and Marketing Team to ensure client‑facing technical call deliverables are consistent with other communication in client journey and are built with the best possible experience for the client in mind.
  • Initiates safety conversations with the client to verify the client can provide a safe work environment for our employees; shares safety notes with Safety Team to recommend safety best practices for work site; escalates unique safety requirements or concerns to Safety Leadership when identified.
  • Creates and delivers Job Info Sheets that condense critical information related to the successful fulfillment of job orders into a summary format that can be easily absorbed by members of the Technical Recruiting and Project Success Team.
  • Creates and includes in the Job Info Sheet 3–5 questions that can be used to qualify or disqualify a candidate for a specific position based on information gathered in technical call.
  • Establishes and holds regular informational sessions to educate members of the Technical Recruiting Team on positions, resulting in as efficient and successful fulfillment of orders as possible.
  • Trains new members of the Technical Recruiting Team on the technical aspects of the various positions for which we recruit.
  • Makes recommendations for technical training for new members of the Technical Recruiting Team to ensure a fast and effective ramp‑up time.
  • Reviews secured candidates for new positions prior to deployment for skill‑set fit; provides feedback to Technical Recruiting Team members on what was and was not a fit.
  • Acts as the resident technical expert to address technical questions related to open orders or positions with prospective clients for members of the Technical Recruiting Team and Client Solutions Team.
  • Creates and loads interview questions into ATS (Bullhorn) for Technical Recruiting team as needed.
  • Creates and loads Sense Digital Screening questions for ATS (Bullhorn) positions.
  • Utilizes Supply & Demand tools to assist in pay‑rate strategies.
  • Utilizes AI tools to enhance various Technical Resources processes.
  • Collaborates on pay‑rate strategy meetings with Sales and Technical Recruiting Leadership as needed.
  • Fosters an out‑of‑the‑box, solutions‑focused mindset.
  • Takes an approach of continuous improvement, regularly reviewing current processes and tools to identify opportunities to optimize and elevate results.

  • All other duties as assigned.
Minimum Required Skills & Experience
  • 5+ years of staffing experience in the manufacturing industry with a background in both sales and recruiting.
  • Experience implementing and executing change initiatives, both from a people and a technological perspective.
  • Proven experience leading process improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to evaluate compensation to market and set pricing strategies.
  • Experience in training both in person and via Teams/Zoom.
  • Background in Manufacturing, Manufacturing Workforce Solutions, or Educational Institutions focused on Manufacturing and Skilled Trades.
  • High level of comfort having consultative, B2B conversations about skilled trades positions and business challenges with Manufacturing leaders.
