Job summary

AMETEK is seeking a Technical Solutions Engineer in the United States to act as a trusted technical advisor across customers, sales teams, and internal stakeholders. You will identify, develop, and implement engineered solutions for complex applications, spanning semiconductor manufacturing, nanotechnology, life sciences, and photonics.

You will analyze requirements, prepare proposals, and support orders from consultation to execution.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related physical science discipline.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in applications engineering, technical sales, systems engineering, or related customer-facing technical role.
Experience supporting complex capital equipment, scientific instrumentation, semiconductor equipment, or high-technology products.
Strong engineering analysis, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, test data, and customer requirements.
Experience developing technical solutions for customer applications.
Experience using Salesforce.com.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams).
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to travel approximately 15–25% domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

Serve as a technical resource for customer applications, guiding engineered solutions and product capabilities.
Engage with domestic and international customers, research institutions, OEMs, and strategic accounts to understand requirements and objectives.
Analyze customer specifications and requirements to recommend optimal solutions.
Support customer visits, virtual meetings, and technical discussions.
Develop technical proposals, quotations, presentations, and recommendations.
Collaborate with sales teams to support opportunity development and customer engagement.
Define product requirements with Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, and Marketing.
Coordinate project activities including communications, orders, and scheduling.
Monitor industry trends to identify opportunities for growth.
Create technical documentation and customer-facing content.
Use Salesforce.com and other systems to manage opportunities and forecasts.
Analyze data to improve sales effectiveness and customer satisfaction.
Leverage AI-enabled tools to improve productivity and proposal quality.
Deliver technical training and presentations to customers and partners.
Serve as SME on products and industry trends.
Support continuous improvement initiatives.
