Job summary

Designed Conveyor Systems is seeking a Software Solutions Consultant to connect customers with the DATUM software, gather requirements, and guide opportunities through scoping, pricing, and proposals. You will collaborate with Sales, Engineering, Estimating, and Contracts Management, and contribute to demonstrations and trade shows.

You will translate early requirements into clear technical documentation, develop demo content, and support field and remote engagements.

Qualifications

• At least three years of experience in Warehouse Execution System software technical sales, software consulting, or software implementation.
• Experience gathering technical requirements, evaluating system compatibility, and documenting project scopes.
• Ability to clearly explain software capabilities and technical concepts to technical and nontechnical audiences.
• Strong skills in managing customer relationships, leading meetings, and coordinating escalated discussions.
• Willingness to travel approximately 30–40% (more for trade shows Feb–May).

Responsibilities

• Lead technical discovery conversations to understand operational needs and desired outcomes.
• Scope DATUM software opportunities, including customization and initial project requirements.
• Serve as a customer-facing technical resource throughout the sales process.
• Deliver accessible DATUM presentations and demonstrations for diverse audiences.
• Develop Supademo content and manage software content for the demo center.
• Support remote and in-person trade shows with technical Q&A.
• Collaborate with Sales, Solutions Business Development, and other teams to develop pricing and proposals.
• Provide insights from customer discovery to R&D and contracts management.
• Draft commercial agreements with the Principal of Software and Contracts Management.
• Develop level one Software Design Specifications and coordinate transition to level two docs.
• Create internal guides and customer-facing knowledge base content.
