JD Power seeks a Technical Solutions Consultant to partner with an automotive client, turning complex business challenges into actionable technical solutions. You will own the solution design from discovery to kickoff, coordinating with analysts, architects, and developers to deliver results.

You will produce documentation, craft client-facing statements of work, and present approaches to stakeholders while mentoring junior team members and seeking opportunities to expand work with the client.

**Job Description:****Job Title:**Technical Solutions Consultant**Location:** Remote — Detroit metro area, with up to 3 days/week onsite at our client's site in Auburn Hills, MI **Reports to:** Senior Engineering Manager**Employment Type:** Full-timeThis is an existing vacancy**About the Role:**As a Technical Solutions Consultant, you'll partner directly with one of our automotive clients to turn complex business challenges into clear, actionable technical solutions. You'll own the solution design process from initial discovery through project kickoff, independently managing your priorities while partnering with Solution Analysts, Architects, and Developers to bring each solution to life. **In this role, you will:**· Partner with client stakeholders to understand their business challenges andtranslate them into clear, actionable technical solutions — includingrecognizing when their stated ask isn't the right fit.· Own high-level estimates and review detailed estimates from yourdevelopment, QA, and architecture partners.· Produce solution documentation (e.g., business and functional requirements,wireframes) and creating client-facing Statements of Work and proposals.· Present your solution approach to clients and internal stakeholders andproviding technical mentorship to junior teammates.· Identify opportunities to expand your work with the client based on unmetbusiness needs you uncover.**Required Qualifications:** * 5+ years of experience in solutions consulting, pre-sales engineering, or technical solution design.* Proven experience working directly with clients, in person and remotely, to shape technical solutions.* A track record of self-managing priorities and translating ambiguous or incomplete requirements into practical, well-documented solutions — collaborating closely with Solution Analysts, Architects, and Developers along the way.* Strong understanding of system architecture concepts (integration,modernization, scalability), with the confidence to weigh in onarchitecture decisions.* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.**Preferred Qualifications:** * 8+ years of hands-on technical experience on software delivery teams, in roles such as development, QA/test automation, architecture, DevOps, business or solution analysis, or technical consulting* Familiarity with generative AI, both as a tool for your own work and as a capability to recommend to clients* Experience working with automotive OEMs* Experience with enterprise integration or application modernization projects (e.g., APIs, legacy-to-cloud migration)* Experience with SQL and databases* Experience with Java and Golang (Go)* Experience writing SOWs, proposals, or estimates in a professional services or consulting environment* Experience mentoring or coaching junior team members**Compensation and Benefits** This position has a starting salary range of **USD $110,000 – $130,000** per year. The range represents what we reasonably and in good faith expect to pay for the role at the time of posting.
