Job summary

Universal Kids Resort in Frisco, TX is seeking a qualified maintenance technician to support attractions, shows, and water play areas. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical and electro‑mechanical systems, and repair components following OEM specs.

The role requires working varied hours, including weekends and evenings; training is provided. A HS diploma is required; an associate/technical degree is preferred.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years troubleshooting and repair of electro‑mechanical systems.
  • Experience with hydraulic and mechanical systems preferred.
  • Background in theme-park or industrial environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to and assist in the recovery and repair of attractions, show effects, and water play areas.
  • Troubleshoot down to failed components using schematics, leak-detection equipment, vibration analysis, and other specialized tools.
  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance as prescribed by OEM or engineering teams, including changing time‑limited parts and calibrating equipment.
  • Disassemble and repair mechanical components during annual inspections on ride vehicles and verify all quality control and NDT requirements.
  • Complete inspections and create work orders for discrepancies; notify Ride & Show Management when necessary.
  • Repair equipment to improve ride reliability and show quality; perform modifications per engineering specs.
  • Enter follow‑up work orders and document findings; report labor in Maximo.

Job Summary

Responsible for attraction recovery, preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, repair of Universal Kids Resort attractions, show, and water play areas. Troubleshoot all ride and show mechanical aspects and systems following OEM specifications and requirements. Assist with repair of animation, special effects, and water elements.

Job Responsibilities
  • Respond to and assist in the recovery and repair of attractions, show effects, and water play areas. Troubleshoot down to failed components using schematics, leak‑detection equipment, vibration analysis, and other specialized tools.
  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance as prescribed by OEM or engineering teams, including changing time‑limited parts, calibrating equipment, and cleaning, lubricating, and maintaining equipment. Disassemble and repair mechanical components during annual inspections on ride vehicles and verify all quality‑control and NDT requirements are met before reassembly.
  • Complete inspections and create necessary work orders for discrepancies. Follow correct chain of command to notify Ride & Show Management when necessary.
  • Repair equipment due to safety, reliability, or show‑quality issues identified during preventative maintenance, daily inspections, or downtimes to improve ride reliability and show quality. Perform modifications per engineering team and OEM specifications.
  • Enter follow‑up work orders for all discrepancies and document all findings and work performed. Report labor in Maximo for all work performed. Demonstrate ability to acquire skills in additional disciplines to support a broader range of operational and project needs.
  • Complete PQS qualification across UKR’s attractions, shows, and water play areas. Train new technicians in venue‑specific PM work orders, recovery procedures, and processes. Assist with seasonal weather‑condition sustainment initiatives as directed.
  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following UDX policy, procedures, training, and team‑member involvement activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Additional Information
  • Must be willing to work varying hours, including evenings and weekends, to support seasonal maintenance initiatives.
  • Training is required and will be provided prior to performing the inspections.

Education

Experience
