Job summary

Universal Kids Resort, operated by Universal Orlando Resort, is seeking technicians to handle attraction recovery, preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs to ride and show systems per OEM specs. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, PM, and documenting work with Maximo where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Responds to and assists in the recovery and repair of attractions, show effects, and water play areas using schematics and specialized tools.
• Performs preventative and predictive maintenance per OEM or engineering specifications; includes calibration, cleaning, lubrication, and part replacements.
• Creates work orders for discrepancies, notifies Ride & Show Management as needed, and documents findings and work performed throughout troubleshooting and repairs.
• Performs repairs for safety, reliability, or show quality issues; implements modifications per engineering specifications.
• Follows PQS qualification across UKR’s attractions, trains new Technicians in PM procedures, and supports seasonal weather initiatives.
• Adheres to Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities per policy.

Responsible for troubleshooting all ride and show mechanical aspects and systems of the attractions following OEM specifications and requirements. Assists with repair of animation, special effects, and water elements.

Job Summary Responsible for attraction recovery, preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of Universal Kids Resort attractions, show and water play areas. Responsible for troubleshooting all ride and show mechanical aspects and systems of the attractions following OEM specifications and requirements. Assists with repair of animation, special effects, and water elements.

Job Responsibilities

• Responds to and assists in the recovery and repair of attractions, show effects, and water play areas. Troubleshoots down to failed components using schematics, leak detection equipment, vibration analysis, and other specialized tools and equipment.
• Performs preventative and predictive maintenance as prescribed by OEM or engineering team, both internal and third-party specifications. This would include changing time-limited parts, calibrating equipment per OEM specifications, filtration systems, and cleaning, lubricating, and maintaining equipment. Responsible for the disassembly and required repairs and replacements for mechanical components during annual inspections on ride vehicles. Verifies all quality control and NDT requirements have been met prior to assembly.
• Completes inspections and creates necessary work orders for discrepancies found. Follows correct chain of command to notify Ride & Show Management when necessary.
• Performs repairs to equipment due to safety, reliability, or show quality issues found during preventative maintenance, daily inspections or downtimes to improve ride reliability and show quality. Performs modifications per engineering team, both internal and third party or OEM specifications.
• Enters follow-up work orders for all discrepancies found in a timely manner. Documents all findings and work performed throughout the process of troubleshooting and performing repairs. Reports on labor in Maximo for all work performed. Demonstrates the ability to acquire skills in additional disciplines to support a broader range of operational and project needs.
• Completes PQS qualification across UKR’s attractions, shows, and water play areas. Trains new Technicians to do venue-specific PM work orders, recovery procedures, and processes. Assists with seasonal weather condition sustainment initiatives as directed.
• Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UDX policy, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Must be willing to work varying hours, including evenings and weekends, to support seasonal maintenance initiatives.
• Training is required and will be provided prior to performing the inspections.

EDUCATION

• High School Diploma or GED is required; Associate’s or Technical degree in related field is preferred.

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in troubleshooting and repair of electro-mechanical systems, as well as hydraulic and mechanical systems either in the theme park industry or other industrial industries; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
