Job summary

Yorkshire Baker is seeking a Technical Services Manager to ensure food safety, legality and quality across on-site production and launches from concept to market.

You will lead specification technologists, oversee KPI reporting, drive continuous improvement and train staff to strengthen the Food Safety & Quality culture across the site.

Qualifications

• Proven food manufacturing experience in a similar role.
• Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in managing teams with the ability to influence.
• Ideally Level 3 Food Safety (Advanced).
• Food-related BSc qualification or 3 years' food manufacturing experience.
• Ideally Level 3 HACCP.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage the specification technologists and the technical services agenda.
• Lead a team with development plans for succession.
• Produce KPI reports and technical updates.
• Manage launch process from concept to market end-to-end.
• Support continuous improvement in quality, complaint reduction and non-conformance reduction.
• Lead cross-functional meetings and present technical data.
• Train factory staff to strengthen Food Safety & Quality culture.
• Oversee annual shelf life and nutritional validation programmes.
• Manage customer queries and seek solutions to concerns.

Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Technical Services Manager to join our team, here at Yorkshire Baker. The main purpose of this role is to be responsible for ensuring the food safety, legality and quality of all products manufactured on site and in doing so ensure that the technical product launch process is managed and supported from concept to launch, here at Yorkshire Baker.

Main duties include (but not limited to):

• Develop and manage the specification technologists and the technical services agenda
• Ensuring effective management of team members with clear development to support the sites succession planning
• Produce relevant KPI reports or technical updates
• Technical Management of the Launch process from end to end
• Guide and support team through the day-to-day challenges and support action plans for a 100-year fix
• Develop strong working relationships with our service providers
• Support Continuous improvement plans such as complaint reduction, quality improvement & non-conformance reduction
• Support implementation of technical strategy and food safety and quality culture plan
• To manage customer queries in a prompt and efficient manner and to seek solutions to any issues of concern
• Attending relevant cross functional site meetings and presenting technical data
• Collaborating, educating and training relevant factory staff to support the development of a stronger Food Safety & Quality Culture
• Management of site annual shelf life and nutritional validation programme
• Management of customer specification and artwork generation
• Management of complaints, management change process & management of pest control process
• Support site customer visits

Candidate requirements:

• Proven food manufacturing experience within a similar role
• A drive to succeed with excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proven management experience, with strong influencing & persuasion skills
• Ideally Level 3 Food Safety (Advanced)
• Food related BSc qualification OR minimum 3 years food manufacturing experience
• Ideally Level 3 HACCP
