Job summary

The Institute of Food Technologists is seeking a Technical Services Coordinator to collect, review, and organize compliance documentation from various sources and distribute relevant documents to customers and suppliers. This is a full-time, hourly non-exempt on-site role in Illinois.

You will handle requests related to food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance, support the sales team, and maintain internal technical documentation to ensure regulatory readiness.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in food manufacturing or related regulatory environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Good computer skills and ability to learn new systems quickly.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Respond to documentation requests from customers related to food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance
• Support the sales team with document requests or related questions
• Prepare, organize, and maintain internal technical and compliance documentation for regulatory readiness
• Maintain supplier and product data in compliance management software, and fulfill related documentation requests
• Track and update supplier approval documentation in coordination with regulatory control
• Participate in departmental meetings and present cases for team discussions
• Perform other documentation tasks as required

Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, the Technical Services Coordinator is responsible for collecting, reviewing, and organizing compliance documentation from various sources, and distributing relevant documents and information to customers and suppliers. This position is a full-time, at-will, hourly non-exempt role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Respond to documentation requests from customers related to food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance
• Support the sales team with responding to document requests or related questions
• Prepare, organize, and maintain internal technical and compliance documentation to ensure accuracy, accessibility, and ongoing regulatory readiness
• Maintain and update supplier and product data in food safety and compliance management software, and fulfill related documentation requests submitted through customer portals
• Track and update supplier approval documentation as needed in support of and in coordination with regulatory control
• Participate in departmental meetings and present cases for team discussions
• Perform other documentation tasks as required

Requirements:

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in food manufacturing or a related regulatory compliance environment
• High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree preferred
• Strong computer skills and proficiency
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new business systems and software platforms

Physical Requirements:

• Repetitive movement using keyboard
• Able to regularly work on-site in an office environment, and occasionally in a food manufacturing environment.
