Job summary

CII Foods in Leavenworth, KS seeks a Regulatory Compliance Coordinator to maintain ingredient and supplier databases, update material documentation, and conduct routine facility compliance inspections. This role supports the QA and Regulatory team and collaborates with plant personnel to ensure data accuracy and current documentation.

You will assist with supplier/ingredient management, align with food safety standards, and provide cross-functional support to Quality Control as needed.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, or related field.
  • Experience in food manufacturing, QA, or regulatory compliance preferred.
  • Familiarity with SQF, BRC, FSSC 22000 certifications; knowledge of FDA regulations and labeling.

Job description

Description

The Regulatory Compliance Coordinator supports the Regulatory team by maintaining ingredient and supplier databases, updating raw material documentation, and conducting routine facility compliance inspections, and other general and supporting tasks for Regulatory. This position serves as a shared resource for both the Raw Materials Manager and the QA and Regulatory Manager, ensuring that data systems are accurate, documentation is current, and compliance standards are consistently met across the facility. The Coordinator handles the ongoing upkeep of approved materials and suppliers rather than initial approvals, though participation in new approval workflows may be required as needed. This role may also provide cross-functional support to other departments, including Quality Control, based on operational needs. Must effectively communicate with plant personnel, frontline supervisors, operating managers, and external suppliers or certification bodies. This position reports to the QA and Regulatory Manager.

Requirements
Education and Certifications
  • Required: High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field.
Experience
  • Preferred: Minimum 1 year of experience in a food manufacturing, quality assurance, or regulatory compliance environment.
  • Preferred: Experience with TraceGains, SAP, or similar supplier/ingredient management platforms. Familiarity with food safety certifications and standards (SQF, BRC, FSSC 22000). Experience with Kosher, Halal, Organic, Non-GMO Project, or RSPO certification programs. Knowledge of FDA regulations, GRAS requirements, and food labeling standards.
Skills
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage high volumes of records and documentation.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with database management, spreadsheets, and documentation systems.
  • Must be proficient in MS Excel and Outlook, with working knowledge of MS Word and other Office applications.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple departments.
  • Capable of prioritizing and planning work activities in a fast-paced environment.
Working Environment and Physical Demands
  • Office and plant floor environment. Periodic work required in warehouse and production areas that are not temperature-controlled; must be able to work in varying temperature and weather conditions.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods during facility compliance inspections.
  • May require occasional lifting up to 50 lbs related to ingredient sampling or documentation purposes.
  • Standard business hours with occasional flexibility for audit preparation, facility issues, or deadline-driven tasks.
  • May periodically report to the St. Joseph facility to assist with customer audits, ingredient sampling, or other duties as needed.
