Job description

As a Technical Service Representative, you will represent PPG onsite at customer locations, ensuring our Industrial Coatings customers' satisfaction by providing outstanding customer service. Service includes troubleshooting, process improvements, focusing on quality to their specifications, and supporting the growth of the business. Be self-directed and support both customer and PPG goals. Participate in Continuous Improvement Teams and problem resolution meetings with Operations and Management.

Specialized training is provided to those who meet the qualifications of the role. You will report to the local Technical Service Manager. Responsibilities:

1. Support ongoing PPG activities at PPG facilities and onsite at customer production sites, understanding customer concerns, collecting data, taking appropriate actions, and resolving problems promptly.
2. Ensure accurate reporting to customers and the coatings team.
3. Communicate effectively with PPG Technical and Account Management teams, and promote EH&S initiatives.
4. Provide resolution to customer inquiries, monitor application processes, guide in mix-room operations, and support hands-on activities, with daily trip reports.
5. Assist sales in commercialization efforts, product launches, process optimization, testing, troubleshooting, trial execution, and process improvements.
6. Follow safe work practices, demonstrating mechanical aptitude and effective communication with technical and non-technical personnel to meet customer requirements.

Qualifications:

• HS Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience in Electrocoat, wet paint, powder coating, electrostatic spray, or similar industrial or manufacturing coatings processes.
• Experience with paint mixing, application, or related processes is ideal.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Experience in troubleshooting and providing detailed resolutions.
• Ability to interpret customer questions and respond appropriately.
• Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and in teams to solve dynamic challenges.
• Willingness to travel locally and regionally to customer sites.
