The Technical Service Project Manager (Fabrication & Technology) is a multidisciplinary role responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, execution, and successful delivery of service projects that span fabrication, and technology integration. This individual manages both proactive and reactive scopes—including AV systems, software and hardware deployments, custom fabrication components, and warranty/service follow-ups—ensuring projects are completed on time, on budget, and in alignment with the client’s vision.

This role acts as a central point of contact for clients and a bridge between internal teams including Technology, Fabrication, Engineering, and Service. The Technical Service Project Manager is responsible for leading cross-functional teams, aligning physical and digital deliverables, managing quality and documentation, and driving client satisfaction across the entire project lifecycle.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES/FUNCTIONSmay include but are not limited to:

Project Leadership & Client Management

• Manage multiple concurrent projects across service, fabrication, and technology scopes.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for client communication and coordination throughout all phases of the project.
• Define and clarify project requirements, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with clients and internal stakeholders.
• Lead planning and alignment meetings across departments to ensure seamless integration of digital, physical, and service elements.
• Maintain clear communication regarding project milestones, budgets, timelines, and scope changes.

Technical & AV Scope Oversight

• Own and track the AV and tech scope, including engineering, procurement, software development, physical installation, and QA.
• Coordinate with AV Engineers, Developers, Fabricators, Project Engineers, and Installers to ensure technical solutions are aligned with creative intent and practical requirements.
• Manage subcontractor relationships including contracts and invoice approvals.
• Lead testing, QA efforts, and troubleshooting efforts remotely in partnership with the service technician deployed to site.
• Update any post-installation documentation including service plans, manuals, and maintenance expectations to align with new findings.

Fabrication & Production Integration

• Partner with Fabrication and Production teams to schedule work plans, manage production budgets, and ensure build feasibility.
• Oversee production timelines and deliverables in line with installation readiness and site coordination needs
• Ensure all fabrication components are aligned with technology scope and field conditions.
• Facilitate updates to as-built documentation and fabrication drawings post-installation.
• Track and mitigate risks tied to custom-built elements, onsite integration, and client-driven modifications.

Service, Warranty, and Post-Install Support

• Lead warranty and rework initiatives, tracking issues and coordinating timely responses.
• Maintain the Rework/Warranty log and serve as liaison between Production, Service, and Technology teams.
• Ensure that follow-up service requests are clearly documented, scheduled, and communicated to all stakeholders.
• Incorporate service feedback into future production and technology processes.
• Optional travel as needed for site visits, service walk-throughs, or project closeout meetings.

Financial & Process Management

• Own project scope and financial performance—monitoring margins, addressing scope creep, and managing change orders.
• Support monthly revenue forecasting and reporting in coordination with the finance and estimating teams.
• Maintain accurate project data in systems such as Wrike, Salesforce, Concur, and Google Workspace.
• Recommend and implement process improvements related to project planning, team communication, or execution workflow.
• Monitor project performance to ensure alignment with both short- and long-term company goals.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

• Strong understanding of AV/technology systems, fabrication methods, and service workflows.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to lead client meetings, drive team accountability, and manage conflict diplomatically.
• Proven ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail, project documentation, and status tracking.
• Familiarity with construction documents, blueprints, scheduling tools, and digital QA processes.
• Collaborative mindset with a strong team-player attitude and a drive for shared success.
• Experience using Wrike, Salesforce, Concur, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and industry-standard PM tools.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in Digital Communications, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in a hybrid project management role across service, fabrication, and/or technology disciplines.
• Background in AV, custom fabrication, installations, or experience design are highly preferred.
• Prior experience in client-facing, cross-functional project leadership roles required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, climb, crouch, or crawl.
• The employee must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
• The employee must be able to stand for long periods of time.
• Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
• Employee must be able to talk and hear.
