Job summary

Dimensional Innovations is seeking a Technology Estimator to evaluate client needs and craft initial technology solutions spanning software, hardware, and infrastructure. You will bridge the Technology team with Creative Studio and Sales & Estimating to align on technical approaches for design concepts and goals.

You will collaborate with Estimating, Sales, Creative, and Technology to prepare estimate workbooks and document scope, solutions, and foreseeable risks for client review.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• CTS Certification is a plus along with manufacturer level certifications (Crestron, QSC, Biamp, etc.).
• 3–5 years relevant work experience required including creating estimates for technology projects with hardware and software needs.

Responsibilities

• Works with Estimating, Sales, Creative and Technology teams to create estimate workbooks for jobs involving software development, tech hardware, system engineering, installation, and service.
• Identify opportunities for process and pricing improvements at project and department levels.
• Assist with brainstorming sessions to develop potential solutions for client needs.

• Hand off approved scope with supporting documentation for final engineering.

Reporting to the Director of Estimating, the Technology Estimator is responsible for evaluating the needs of a client/project by providing initial technology solutions to achieve a design concept or goal and determining how the Technology team can support those needs leveraging software, hardware, or infrastructure. This role bridges communication between the Technology team, the Creative Studio and Sales & Estimating to ensure everyone is aligned to develop and implement technical solutions for clients.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES/FUNCTIONS May Include But Are Not Limited To

• Works closely with the Estimating, Sales, Creative and Technology teams to create estimate workbooks for jobs involving software development, tech hardware, system engineering, installation, and service
• Identify opportunities for process and pricing improvements, both on a project and department level
• Assist with and participate in brainstorming sessions to develop potential solutions for client needs
• Determine feasibility of interactive technology concepts and architect potential system design solutions
• Works closely with Interactive Systems Engineers to hand off approved scope with supporting documentation of initial solutions, high level line drawings, estimate workbook, and any other relevant context for final engineering
• Source and document third-party hardware and software solutions by providing tech solutions to achieve the design concept or goal
• Collaborates with Solutions Engineer team to stay informed and up to date about new technologies and competitor companies to continuously educate and improve on current solutions
• Communicates and consults with clients and internal stakeholders to develop appropriate solutions
• Interfaces with clients on the front end of opportunities, seeking to manage customer satisfaction and set proper expectations for the end-product; serves as the technical expert by providing input to the Tech A/V and Engineering team
• Works closely with Sales Team and Creative Team members to strategize solutions for client needs and help with the client pitch
• Maintains extensive knowledge of tech hardware and systems, including client meetings and site visits to assess for estimating and client solutions
• Seeks regular feedback, adjustments, and applies problem-solving to properly design and coordinate with Tech A/V team to implement potential solutions

Education/Certifications/Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field preferred
• CTS Certification is a plus along with manufacturer level certifications (i.e., Crestron, QSC, Biamp, etc.) or entry level industry certification such as AVIXA Technologist
• Expert level with using Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets required
• 3-5 years relevant work experience required including creating estimates for technology projects with hardware and software needs
• Experience with commercial A/V or high-end residential A/V is a plus including LCD video walls and direct view LED walls

Physical Demands

• The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, climb, crouch, or crawl
• The employee must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
• Employee must be able to talk and hear
