Job summary

Job Juncture seeks a Technical Service Engineer (Application Engineering) for a global plastics materials organization in Farmington Hills, MI. The role focuses on delivering customer-facing technical support across the product development life cycle and coordinating with global teams.

Travel domestically and internationally is involved, including South America. Responsibilities include material selection, processing optimization, qualification, troubleshooting and launching new applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Polymer Engineering, Materials Science/Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in application engineering, technical service or product development.
• Strong understanding of engineering thermoplastics and injection molding fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Engage with customers across the product development lifecycle from requirements through validation and product launch.
• Develop practical technical solutions covering material selection, processing, and component performance.
• Support molding trials, product evaluations, and qualification activities with technical recommendations.
• Troubleshoot material, molding and application issues with root-cause analysis and clear recommendations.
• Collaborate with sales, R&D, and product teams to support projects and new business opportunities.
