Job summary

MK Search is partnering with a global engineering thermoplastics manufacturer to hire a Technical Service Engineer for its US office in Farmington Hills. The role serves as the technical bridge between customers, the Americas sales team, distributors and R&D and technical service teams in Asia.

You will develop customer-focused technical solutions, guide material selection and processing, support product qualification, and translate results into clear recommendations for customers and the sales

Qualifications

• 5+ years in technical service, application development, polymer engineering, injection molding or product development
• Strong knowledge of engineering thermoplastics and molding fundamentals
• Ability to translate customer problems into practical technical recommendations

Responsibilities

• Develop customer-focused technical solutions for engineering thermoplastics across automotive, E&E, consumer and industrial markets
• Guide customers on material selection, processing and part design considerations
• Support product qualification: molding evaluations, validation, troubleshooting and root cause investigations
• Turn molding and analytical results into clear technical recommendations and customer proposals
• Run and interpret evaluations covering molding conditions, dimensional stability, mechanical performance and durability
• Use analytical techniques such as DSC, FTIR, SEM, microscopy, MFR, mechanical and impact testing
• Write technical reports, processing guidelines and customer presentations
• Join sales colleagues on customer visits, technical seminars and product promotions
• Provide technical support and training to distributors across the Americas

Technical Service Engineer – Engineering Thermoplastics Applications

MK Search is partnering with a global engineering thermoplastics manufacturer to hire a Technical Service Engineer for its US office in Farmington Hills.

Their materials go into automotive, electrical and electronics, consumer, medical and industrial applications worldwide. This role is the technical bridge between customers, the Americas sales team, distributors and the R&D and technical service teams in Asia. You'll spend your time solving real customer problems with materials, molding and application knowledge, not sitting in a lab.

What we're looking for

• 5+ years in technical service, application development, polymer engineering, injection molding or product development
• Working knowledge of injection molding fundamentals: processing conditions, material behaviour, tooling, and how molding affects final part performance
• Understanding of engineering thermoplastics
• Ability to translate customer problems into practical technical recommendations
• Experience supporting customers, technical sales or product qualification (preferred)
• Experience with DSC, FTIR, SEM, microscopy, MFR, mechanical testing or dimensional metrology is a plus
• Strong communication and presentation skills, and confidence in front of customers
• Bachelor's degree in Polymer, Materials, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, or a related technical discipline (preferred)
