Technical Sales Specialist - FTIR (National)

Reporting Line

This position reports to the Sales Team Lead.

Your Role and Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for planning, presenting, and managing new and existing ABB Analytics opportunities within our Process Analytics (PA) business in the US. The ideal candidate will have technical expertise in FTIR / NIR, with knowledge of CGA, CEMS, GC, and/or TDL technologies. You should be well-spoken and driven to meet and exceed customer needs.

The role operates remotely. #LI-Remote
Relocation assistance will not be provided. This position contributes to the nationwide Process Automation Measurement & Analytics (PAMA) division in the US.

Main Responsibilities
  • Identify potential projects and present ABB Analytical Solutions tailored to customer needs. Support channel partners, collaborate with sales teams, and drive business growth.
  • Expand ABB's Process Analytics business aligned with our go-to-market strategy. Be the front line of solution offering and execution.
  • Monitor market trends and recommend strategic adjustments based on market and competitive analysis.
  • Communicate the value proposition of Analytics internally and externally. Support local sales with communication, promotion, and training activities.
  • Achieve key targets (volume, price, mix) across regions and nationally through detailed business planning and follow-up.
  • Prioritize and manage major accounts, including account management and relationship building with key customers.
  • Collaborate with sales to identify and secure future business opportunities, including negotiations of complex agreements.
  • Identify and manage risks related to contracts and pricing across segments.
  • Report progress by segment and utilize tools to identify future opportunities.
Qualifications
  • Associates Degree in technology with 5+ years' experience in instrumentation, either as a customer, salesperson, technician, or project manager.
  • Experience in FTIR / NIR and knowledge of CGA, CEMS, GC, and/or TDL technologies.
  • Understanding of Analytics including GC's, FTIR, Tunable Diode Lasers, CGA, and CWA; instrumentation knowledge is a plus.
  • Ability to leverage industry relationships for new opportunities.
  • Solution design skills tailored to customer needs, with a focus on integrating ABB products.
  • Customer-centric approach, understanding their goals, maintenance practices, and partnership dynamics.
  • Ability to build relationships at all levels within ABB, partners, and customers.
  • Willingness to travel up to 35% domestically; occasional international travel for training.
  • Must have valid work authorization in the US; sponsorship not available.
