Technical Sales Specialist - FTIR (National)

Reporting to: Sales Team Lead

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will be planning, presenting, and managing new and existing ABB Analytics opportunities for our Process Analytics (PA) business in the US. The ideal candidate will be technically proficient, experienced in FTIR / NIR, and knowledgeable about CGA, CEMS, GC, and/or TDL technologies. You should be well-spoken and driven to succeed in meeting and exceeding customer needs.

The work model for this role is remote. #LI-Remote
Relocation assistance will not be provided. This position contributes to the Process Automation Measurement & Analytics (PAMA) division nationwide in the US.

Main responsibilities include:
  1. Identify potential projects: Present ABB Analytical Solutions tailored to customer needs. Drive and support channel partners, collaborate with sales teams, and directly grow our business.
  2. Market growth: Expand ABB's Process Analytics business aligned with our go-to-market strategy. Be the front line in offering and executing ABB solutions.
  3. Market analysis: Monitor trends and recommend strategic adjustments. Provide market insights for decision-making.
  4. Communication: Articulate the value proposition of Analytics internally and externally. Support sales with effective promotion and training activities.
  5. Achieve targets: Meet volume, price, and mix targets regionally and nationally. Develop and follow detailed business plans.
  6. Account management: Prioritize major accounts and maintain strong relationships. Communicate performance and opportunities to relevant teams.
  7. Business development: Work with sales to identify and capture future opportunities. Support negotiations of complex agreements.
  8. Risk management: Identify and manage risks related to contracts and pricing across segments.
  9. Reporting: Use common tools to measure progress and identify future opportunities.
Qualifications
  • Associates Degree in technology with 5+ years' experience in instrumentation, including roles as a customer, seller, technician, or project manager.
  • Experience in FTIR / NIR and solid understanding of CGA, CEMS, GC, and/or TDL technologies.
  • Knowledge of Analytics tools such as GC, FTIR, Tunable Diode Lasers, CGA, and CWA. Instrumentation knowledge is a plus.
  • Ability to leverage industry relationships for new opportunities.
  • Solution design skills tailored to customer needs, with a focus on ABB products.
  • Customer-centric approach, understanding customer goals, maintenance, and partnerships.
  • Ability to build relationships at all organizational levels.
  • Up to 35% domestic travel; international travel once per year for training.
  • Must have existing work authorization in the US; no sponsorship provided.
