Washing Systems, LLC (WSI) Technical Sales Representative Job Description

Washing Systems, LLC (WSI), now part of the Kao family of companies, seeks a highly self-motivated Technical Sales Representative (TSR) to join our thriving team. WSI is the largest supplier of commercial laundry detergents in North America, providing high-quality commercial laundry and chemical products to both uniform and linen rental companies. Working remotely and on client sites within your assigned territory, the TSR is responsible for providing technical solutions for plant operations, identifying and executing sales opportunities through data analysis, and developing long-term relationships with all levels of management in your customer base. This role is crucial as it embodies the face of our organization, with our commitment to exceptional service fueling our exponential growth. The ideal candidate possesses strong technical or mechanical acumen, prior field service experience, excellent technological skills, people skills, and strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.

Essential Responsibilities and Tasks
  1. Promote and sell the full product line to existing customers
  2. Develop a key sales prospect list, establish relationships, and acquire new customers
  3. Maintain appropriate sales coverage within your territory
  4. Provide consistent service, maintenance, and communication for 6-10 accounts
  5. Install and program WSI chemical dosing equipment to interface with customer washing equipment
  6. Plan and execute new installations or conversions within your territory
  7. Maintain all company-provided equipment in proper working condition
  8. Operate within the assigned expense budget
  9. Collect past due accounts receivable as applicable
  10. Eliminate rush orders of products
  11. Submit all reports timely
Qualifications

To perform this role successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform these functions.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Mechanical, or related field, with 1-2 years of industry experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Military background is a plus
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and technical/mechanical skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, internet, and order processing software
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Physical Demands

Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, handle objects, and communicate verbally.

Work Environment

The role involves at least 50% travel to customer sites and plants. The plant environment may include wet or humid conditions, extreme heat, exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and chemicals. Noise levels are generally moderate but can be loud in production areas.
