Job summary

Qualastat is seeking a Sales Support Engineer to assist the sales and engineering teams with technical guidance, accurate quotes, and ensuring designs meet customer requirements.

The role requires solid electro-mechanical knowledge, experience with cable harness design, and proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and ERP systems to support cost estimation. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and clearly convey technical details to stakeholders to drive successful quotations.

Qualifications

• Experience with electro-mechanical systems or cable harness design.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor or equivalent 3D modeling software.
• Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical engineering principles.
• Familiarity with cable harness industry standards and regulations.
• Excellent problem-solving and meticulous attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
• Knowledge and experience with Epicor or a similar ERP system.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with customers and the sales team to understand project requirements and cable harness needs, ensuring proposals meet customer expectations.
• Analyze technical specifications and drawings to determine materials, components, and manufacturing processes for harness assemblies or cabling, enabling accurate cost estimation.
• Understand and apply Mil/Aero specifications to determine testing requirements and associated costs.
• Ensure drawings and documentation align with manufacturing capabilities and standards for production.
• Research required components, obtaining pricing and availability to generate lead times for projects.
• Use Autodesk Inventor to create detailed drawings and sketches to aid the quoting process.
• Employ Office Suite and the ERP system to generate comprehensive quotes; Epicor experience a plus.
• Work with cross-functional teams to understand manufacturing costs based on current production methods.
• Communicate technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders throughout the sales process.
