Requisition Title: Technical Sales Engineer
Duration: FTE/Permanent (US Citizens only)
The Technical Sales Engineer acts as the primary bridge between R&D capabilities and our customers' evolving needs. The core purpose of this role is to proactively contact potential customers to review current R&D products, identify technical pain points, and collaborate with internal teams to drive new product design and innovation that solves customer challenges.
Proactive Technical Outreach: Initiate and maintain contact with potential and existing customers to
showcase current R&D product developments and capabilities.
Customer Needs Analysis: Conduct technical discussions to understand customer-specific requirements, identifying opportunities for new product design or modifications to existing systems.
Bridge to Engineering: Act as the technical conduit between customers and the internal engineering
team; translate customer feedback and technical requirements into actionable design input.
Commercial & Technical Liaison: Support quotation activities (RFQ) by ensuring technical requirements
are clearly understood and accurately reflected in proposals.
Product Expertise: Maintain a deep understanding of products, including manufacturing processes
and material specifications (e.g., ultrasonic welding capabilities, material compatibility).
Market Intelligence: Perform competitor benchmarking and monitor industry trends to inform R&D strategy and long-term product roadmaps.
4-year degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or equivalent technical field.
Strong grasp of engineering practices (e.g., DFM, FMEA, GD&T) and the ability to interpret 3D models and technical drawings.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to nontechnical stakeholders.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; experience with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) is highly preferred.
3–5 years of experience in product engineering, technical sales, or business development, preferably within the automotive or manufacturing sectors.
Product development and design
3D software modeling ability (opening models, manipulating them, cutting sections, etc)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to nontechnical stakeholders.
Relationship development with customer stake holders (purchasing, engineering)
Open seating work environment with ability to change work location daily (if needed)
Periodic travel by air, car or train to other company operations, customers and/or suppliers.
Ability to lift up to 20 pounds
