Palo Alto Networks in the United States is seeking a highly motivated Technical Revenue Manager to join the Finance team. The role partners with cross-functional teams to structure and negotiate contractual terms, perform revenue close activities, and contribute to process improvements in a fast-paced environment.

You will support monthly closes, assist audits, and ensure SOX controls are followed while helping drive revenue strategy for our worldwide business lines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience writing complex technical revenue accounting position papers.
  • Advanced skills in Excel, PowerPoint and Google Sheets with strong analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Sales, Legal, FP&A, and Sales Ops on non-standard contract reviews.
  • Review and journalize non-routine revenue transactions and assist month-end close.
  • Monitor revenue inbox and respond to business requests in a timely manner.
  • Identify insights to improve accounting processes and efficiencies.

Become a member of the Technical Revenue team at Palo Alto Networks! We are seeking a highly motivated Technical Revenue Manager who is excited to join a high growth Company. The ideal candidate must possess strong critical thinking and communication skills. This person will partner closely with our cross‑functional teams to structure and negotiate contractual terms, perform revenue close accounting activities, as well as work with key stakeholders, lead projects, develop new processes and improve on the month‑end close process. The position requires a hands‑on person who is flexible, solutions‑oriented and works well under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with Sales, Legal, FP&A, and Sales Operations on non‑standard contract review to determine revenue impact and provide recommendations to maximize revenue
  • Support monthly closing activities including, but not limited to, reviewing non‑routine revenue transactions, performing accounting assessments, preparing accurate journal entries, and documenting revenue conclusions
  • Monitor revenue inbox to respond timely and appropriately to business requests
  • Research, resolve and operationalize complex and non‑routine revenue accounting transactions
  • Identify actionable insights and suggest recommendations to address issues and improve accounting processes/efficiencies
  • Participate in and/or lead projects and initiatives with cross functional impacts
  • Ensure compliance with SOX 404 key controls
  • Assist with external audits and special projects as needed
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5+ years of related work experience with 3+ years of Technical Revenue experience
  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university or equivalent training, education, and experience in Finance, Accounting or similar field or equivalent military experience required
  • Experienced in writing complex technical revenue accounting position papers
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint) and Google Sheet
  • Solid organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities and execute in a fast‑paced environment with attention to details
  • Team player and effective communicator with all levels of management and cross functional organizations
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior Public Accounting experience with regards to Revenue (ASC 606) preferred
  • CPA or equivalent a plus
  • SAP, SFDC, Big Query and accounting operations experience a plus
  • Familiarity with generative AI tools to enhance daily productivity and workflow efficiency a plus

Compensation Disclosure

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/com-missioned roles) is expected to be the annual range listed below. The offered compensation may also include restricted stock units and a bonus. A description of our employee benefits may be found here.

$110,000.00 - $179,500.00/yr
