Job summary

Patronus AI in San Francisco seeks a Technical Recruiter to own end-to-end hiring for researchers and engineers. You will craft pipelines, partner with co-founders and hiring managers, and close top candidates who have competing offers.

You will leverage AI to automate repetitive work and focus on high-impact conversations. You will source beyond keywords, evaluate deep technical fluency, and maintain a strong candidate experience while pushing for a high bar in a fast-moving, research-driven

Qualifications

• 5+ years of full-cycle technical recruiting, including at startups without established processes.
• Experience hiring engineers or researchers in competitive markets with multiple offers.
• Ability to source non-applicants and showcase a track record of finding candidates not on first page.
• Technical fluency to read papers, GitHub profiles, and form views before managers.
• Strong closing, negotiation, and value proposition skills.
• Judgment to uphold high bar with founders.
• Willingness to leverage AI for market mapping, research, outreach and analytics.
• Excellent written communication for outreach.

Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle recruiting for research, platform, product engineering and technical program management — from intake to close.
• Source passive candidates from publications, citations, open-source work, conferences, academia, and referrals.
• Collaborate with hiring managers and co-founders to define role scope, bar, and success criteria.
• Develop domain fluency to assess technical qualifications over keyword matching.
• Close candidates, manage offers, and negotiate alongside founders.
• Own candidate experience end to end, including those not selected.
• Use AI to automate market mapping, research, outreach drafting, and funnel analysis.
• Report on pipeline health, time-to-fill, source effectiveness and outcomes; adapt strategies.
• Build increasingly ambiguous recruiting and People solutions as context grows.
