Job summary

Toyota Material Handling North America is seeking a Technical Publications Writer to develop manuals, reference materials, and online help for internal and external audiences. You will collaborate with engineers and SMEs to ensure accuracy and consistency while coordinating print and electronic publication processes.

The role requires strong writing, project management, and familiarity with CCMS, FrameMaker, Acrobat Pro, and PLM tools.

Qualifications

  • Create and update technical documents that support the company’s publishing objectives.
  • Make revisions to existing documentation as directed by senior team members or management.
  • Ensure all materials align with Technical Publications, Marketing, Legal, and Corporate standards.
  • Follow established processes for document storage and archiving.
  • Support the coordination of print and electronic publication of materials.
  • Assist team members by conducting research and gathering information as needed.
  • Follow established templates and visual standards to ensure consistency in published materials.
  • Review engineering prints, system diagrams, and parts lists to support documentation accuracy.

The Role:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicatedTechnical Publications Writer. In this role, you will support the creation of technical manuals, reference materials, online help, and other documentation for both internal and external audiences. You will help to create clear, descriptive content and work closely with multiple departments and subject matter experts to verify accuracy. You will use a variety of tools, technologies, and media to complete documentation tasks and coordinate the production and distribution of published materials as needed. This position offers the opportunity to build technical knowledge while contributing to high-quality documentation in a collaborative environment.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Create and update technical documents that support the company’s publishing objectives.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong project management capabilities.
  • Knowledge of PC operating systems and system software.
  • Proficiency with key software tools relevant to the role, such as CCMS, FrameMaker, Acrobat Pro, Microsoft Office Suite, PLM, and AI based tools.
  • Experience in using Simplified Technical English.

What Sets You Apart:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree or related technical certificate.
  • 1 + years of relevant professional experience.
  • Basic understanding of electrical, mechanical and hydraulic systems, hardware/software integration, troubleshooting, assembly techniques, and applicable tools.

Where and When You’ll Work:

  • Enjoy the best of both worlds with a hybrid schedule—collaborate in person at our Greene, NY office 3 days a week and work remotely 2 days a week.
  • Typical first shift hours, Monday through Friday.

What Your Total Compensation & Benefits Package will look like:

Salary-$62,353 - $72,000 per year. Compensation depends on the selected candidate’s education and experience.
