Responsibilities

  • Assist in development of AI/ML prototypes for data analysis and process improvement.

What You Will Do

As a Technical Publications- Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) Technical Developer Intern at Pratt & Whitney you will…..

  • Assist in development of AI/ML prototypes to support technical data analysis and process improvement
  • Work with structured technical data (e.g., Exstensible Markup Language (XML) -based documentation) to prepare datasets for analysis
  • Develop and test machine learning models for classification, pattern recognition, or anomaly detection
  • Evaluate model performance using measurable metrics (precision, recall, false positive rate)
  • Build scripts and tools to support exploratory data analysis and preprocessing
  • Support integration of AI-assisted outputs into a human-in-the-loop review workflow
  • Document model assumptions, limitations, and improvement opportunities
  • Collaborate with technical publications, Quality Assurance, and engineering stakeholders to validate prototype outputs

Qualifications You Must Have
  • Must be pursuing Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Artificial Intelligence and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship session.
  • Must have a minimum of 60 hours of credit by the start of the internship session.
  • Minimum Cumulative GPA of 3.0

Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

Qualifications We Prefer
  • Experience with data preprocessing and model evaluation techniques
  • Experience with natural language processing (NLP) concepts
  • Experience collaborating in teams and managing tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Experience with Python programming and machine learning concept
  • Experience working with structured and semi-structured data
  • Prior RTX internship, co-op, or work experience.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
