Job summary

RTX in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, is offering a Summer Internship program in hybrid mode. Students will work on meaningful aerospace projects with mentorship from engineers, gaining hands-on experience across engine programs and operations.

Ideal candidates are engineering students with analytical skills, a passion for learning, and basic Python knowledge. The program requires U.S. citizenship and a minimum 3.0 GPA, with a blended onsite/offsite schedule.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a degree program in Mechanical, Aerospace, Chemical, Computer or Software Engineering.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen or eligible to work in the U.S.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.

Immerse yourself in a Monday-Friday Summer Intern session, that will run from June to August (it is expected students will take this time off from coursework to fully engage with this working mentorship opportunity).

This position will sit at our Aguadilla, PR location. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered.

Key Responsibilities

• Candidates should have successfully demonstrated analytical and mathematical modeling skills to solve problems and the ability to work at an implementation level.
• Support system design integration and requirement management activities.
• Attend and participate in group meetings, teleconferences and/or training.
• Responsible for making minor changes or enhancements in systems and processes to solve problems or improve the effectiveness of the work area.
• Support project management activities
• Based on business needs, the incumbent may be required to support other duties/functions within the company.
• English (read, write, speak) is required when communicating with customers, co-workers, or supervisors who only speak English.

Basic Qualifications

• Enrolled in a degree program in Mechanical, Aerospace, Chemical, Computer or Software Engineering.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0

Preferred Qualifications

• A passion for learning about and pursuing a career in aviation and aerospace
• Creative problem-solving skills and adaptability in responding to new business challenges.
• Eager to learn new things, contribute a fresh perspective, and share your knowledge with others.
• Basic understanding of gas turbine engines.
• Knowledge in Python or other coding languages.

This position is classified:

Hybrid. Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. This means that responsibilities of the job need to be performed onsite in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico on a regular basis with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote following the schedule assigned by the Manager.
