Responsibilities

• Lead complex Middle Office technology projects from initial requirements through delivery and implementation.
• Partner with Engineering, Product, Operations, Trading and other business stakeholders to define priorities and drive execution.
• Manage initiatives across the trade lifecycle, including trade capture, enrichment, allocations, confirmations, reconciliation, settlements and position management.
• Deliver technology projects supporting equities, fixed income, derivatives and other traded products.
• Translate business and operational requirements into clear technology deliverables.
• Coordinate across software engineering teams and third-party providers where required.
• Own project plans, dependencies, risks, milestones and stakeholder communication.
• Identify process and technology improvements across Middle Office and post-trade workflows.
• Drive automation and help reduce manual processes across the operating environment.
• Manage multiple concurrent initiatives within a fast-paced investment environment.

Technical Project Manager – Middle Office Technology

Location: New York, 4 days on-site

Total Comp: Competitive Base + Bonus - Advertised is base salary only.

A leading global hedge fund is looking to hire an experienced Technology Project Manager to deliver strategic projects across its Middle Office technology platform.

This is a highly visible role sitting between Technology, Operations and the investment business, responsible for driving complex initiatives supporting the trade lifecycle, post-trade processing and core middle-office functions.

The position requires someone who understands capital markets and trading workflows, rather than a generalist technology Project Manager.

The Role

• Lead complex Middle Office technology projects from initial requirements through delivery and implementation.

Candidate Profile

• Strong experience as a Technology Project Manager, Technical Project Manager or Programme Manager within financial markets.
• Previous experience delivering Middle Office, post-trade or trading technology projects.
• Strong understanding of the front-to-back trade lifecycle.
• Knowledge of areas such as trade capture, confirmations, allocations, reconciliation, settlements, positions, P&L or reference data.
• Experience working with software engineering teams and technically complex platforms.
• Strong understanding of financial products and capital markets, ideally across multiple asset classes.
• Experience within a hedge fund, asset manager, investment bank, proprietary trading firm or other trading environment.
• Ability to work directly with senior Technology, Operations and investment stakeholders.
• Strong project execution skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and complex dependencies.
• Technical understanding of APIs, data flows, databases/SQL or distributed syste
