Carex is partnering with a Healthcareindustry partner to hire a contract Technical Project Manager. This high-impact role will lead the successful delivery of complex, cross-functional software implementations and process improvement initiatives that support organizational growth and operational excellence. This includes an in-progress implementation of their new ITSM platform (TeamDynamix).
Contract Duration: 6 months+
Compensation: $60-65/hr

The Technical Project Manager will serve as a trusted advisor to business, clinical, operational, and technology stakeholders, guiding projects from concept through execution. This individual will bring strong project management discipline, technical acumen, and a customer-focused mindset to coordinate teams, manage risks and dependencies, and drive strategic initiatives to successful outcomes in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
What You'll Do
- Lead multiple concurrent, high-impact software implementation and process improvement projects from initiation through successful go-live.
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, timelines, forecasts, budgets, resource plans, and change control processes.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams spanning operations, clinical leadership, revenue cycle, product, data, technology, and other business functions.
- Establish and manage project governance, including project charters, RAID logs, status reporting, decision tracking, and escalation processes.
- Identify project risks, dependencies, and roadblocks; develop mitigation strategies and drive timely resolution.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with strategic objectives and stakeholder expectations.
- Build strong, trusted relationships with executives and business, clinical, and technical stakeholders.
- Facilitate accountability across project teams and maintain clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.
- Apply Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid project management methodologies based on project needs.
- Own project budgets and resource planning while monitoring progress and adjusting plans as priorities evolve.
- Act as a strategic partner and voice of the customer, identifying opportunities to improve products, processes, and customer experiences.
- Foster positive team dynamics and collaboration across complex, cross-functional environments.
- Document and share project learnings, best practices, innovations, and process improvements to strengthen implementation standards.
- Maintain a strong understanding of relevant products, systems, and solution capabilities to align project outcomes with evolving business value.
- Deliver clear, data-driven project updates, presentations, and recommendations tailored to audiences ranging from functional teams to executive leadership.
- Thrive in ambiguity by bringing a proactive, solutions-oriented approach to complex challenges and competing priorities.
What You'll Bring
- 8+ years of experience managing enterprise software implementations with direct responsibility for project outcomes.
- 5+ years of experience in a customer-facing project management role, ideally within a professional services, consulting, healthcare, or similarly complex environment.
- Demonstrated success leading cross-functional teams of 10+ members and driving complex initiatives to completion under tight deadlines.
- Deep understanding of Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid project management methodologies.
- Strong experience with project governance, risk management, project charters, RAID logs, and structured status reporting.
- Proficiency with project management platforms such as Smartsheet, Jira, Monday, or similar tools.
- Experience managing project budgets, resource planning, forecasts, scope, and change control.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging and presentations for diverse audiences and stakeholders.
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills, including the ability to influence and collaborate with executive leaders and cross-functional teams.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to proactively navigate ambiguity and evolving priorities.
- Meticulous attention to detail across project plans, written communications, reporting, and documentation.
- A collaborative, high-energy, team-first mindset and the ability to succeed in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
