Ookla’s datasets combine crowdsourced and controlled, public and private collection methods, QoS and QoE metrics, and more to unlock correlations and actionable insights—helping organizations optimize networks, enhance digital experiences, and create better connected experiences for end-users.

Our team is passionate and inspired by possibility. We seek team members who love solving problems, are motivated by challenges, and enjoy turning clever ideas into exceptional products. Working with us means using Ookla data and insights to advance the mission of better connectivity for all.

We are looking for a Technical Project Manager in the Product organization. The ideal candidate is familiar with Agile processes (Scrum, Kanban, Lean) and supports enterprise-level hardware and software products. You will collaborate with European and US-based teams in the US, Dublin, and Helsinki, working closely with Product, Data Science, and Engineering teams. Your role includes ensuring deliverables are properly scoped, dependencies are managed, and projects meet goals and deadlines.

The candidate should have successfully led enterprise software and hardware projects, managing the entire lifecycle independently, and ensuring timely delivery using best practices. You will act as the main point of contact for multiple projects, ensuring visibility, accountability, and communication with Sales, Executives, and stakeholders. You should be detail-oriented with strong communication, analytical, and abstract thinking skills, capable of influencing without authority, and experienced in building relationships with internal stakeholders.

What You'll Do:

  • Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables with stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Agile Coaches and Product teams to prioritize the backlog and align on project requirements.
  • Conduct project status meetings to track progress, identify roadblocks, and facilitate resolutions or hand-offs.
  • Minimize risks and provide clear status reports.
  • Develop and manage dashboards for sales and executives to monitor project status, timelines, and risks.
  • Review priorities and deliverables regularly.
  • Participate in cross-team meetings, communicating issues, changes, or blockers.

Expectations for Success:

  • Create project plans aligned with the company roadmap, breaking down deliverables into phases and milestones.
  • Manage project timelines using Jira Plans, including dependencies and risks.
  • Track interdependencies, assess risks, and develop contingency plans across teams.
  • Assist teams with work estimation and resource planning.
  • Conduct regular reviews, gather feedback, and document outputs.
  • Exhibit exceptional leadership, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Drive continuous improvement in project management processes.
  • Resolve blockers promptly and escalate when necessary.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of enterprise-level hardware and software project/program management experience.
  • Experience with Atlassian Jira, Jira Advanced Roadmaps, Confluence, and Google Suite.
  • Jira administration and dashboard building expertise.
  • Proficiency with Google Sheets.
  • Knowledge of Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
  • Proven experience in the software development lifecycle.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • PMP or equivalent certification is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Project Management, or related fields, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience in the Telecommunications industry and understanding of networking, data ingestion, and cloud technologies like AWS.
  • Embedded hardware experience for mobile devices is advantageous.
