Job summary

Stadler Rail AG in Salt Lake City is seeking a Technical Project Manager to lead planning, execution, and delivery for complex system integration projects, bridging engineering teams and business stakeholders.

You will manage international project activities, ensure compliance with industry standards, prepare technical specs, test plans, and training materials, and guide a multidisciplinary team to deliver on time and within scope.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• Project leadership experience; PMP preferred.
• Business administration training preferred.
• 5+ years in rail, defense, aerospace, automotive or similar.
• Experience leading international projects.
• Team player with social skills and responsibility.
• Entrepreneurial thinking and acting; structured, goal-oriented.
• Excellent communication and writing skills; problem solving.
• Business fluent in English; German preferred at least B1.

Responsibilities

• On-time planning and management of internal engineering activities for international projects.
• Implement customer requirements per industry standards and national rules.
• Draft technical specifications, production documents, test plans, and training materials.
• Lead the project team including PMs and lead engineers across disciplines.
• Collaborate with Commercial PM for customer support and communication.

Technical Project Manager

As a Technical Project Manager, you will lead the planning, execution, and delivery for the system integration of complex technical projects. You will bridge the gap between technical teams and business stakeholders ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, compliant, with high quality that aligns with our strategic goals.

Key Activities

• On time execution, planning and management of all internal engineering activities of our challenging international projects
• Implementation of the Customer requirements specification in compliance with industry standards, regulations and national requirements
• Responsible for the conceptualization as well as preparation of technical specifications, production documents, test plans, type tests and documentation & training documents.
• Management of the project team, which consists of Project Managers Engineering and Lead Project Engineers for various disciplines.
• Lead in Customer support and communication in close collaboration with the Commercial Project Manager

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (mechanical or electrical) or equivalent training
• PMP preferred
• Training in business administration preferred
• 5+ years experience in the field of rail vehicle, defense, aerospace, automotive or equivalent
• Experience in leading challenging projects in an international environment
• Team player with excellent social skills, sense of responsibility and assertiveness
