Job summary

Octaura is seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to guide engineering teams, ensure adherence to PM processes, and manage multiple projects to deliver on time and within scope. The role emphasizes cross‑team collaboration, effective communication, and leveraging AI tools to accelerate delivery.

The ideal candidate will have 5–7 years of experience, a Bachelor’s degree, and strong Jira proficiency to support product backlogs and deployment timelines in a FinTech-focused environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience facilitating project ceremonies (stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives).
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies beyond Scrum, such as Kanban or XP.

Responsibilities

  • Run project and team meetings, including stand-ups, sprint and project retrospectives; facilitate meetings to monitor progress and resolve issues.
  • Identify silos, uncover requirement gaps, and groom behaviours through excellent communication and project-management methodologies.
  • Enable engineering teams to deliver within project outlines and timelines; empower team leads to distribute responsibilities.
  • Remove project obstacles and develop solutions with the team.
  • Ensure milestones are reached and deadlines are met throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Document progress and communicate to management and stakeholders via regular reports and burn-down charts.
  • Maximize AI tools to expedite the project delivery process.
  • Work with Product Owners to maintain product backlogs across departments.
  • Prioritize technical debt, infrastructure, and cyber security initiatives in collaboration with the hiring manager.

The Role in a Nutshell

We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager with a track record of delivering complex technical projects. This role will guide and support our engineering teams, ensuring adherence to our project management processes, overseeing multiple projects, and aligning them with organizational objectives to deliver on time and within scope.

The Person
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Business, or a related field.
  • 5‑7 years of experience as a Technical Project Manager or Agile Project Manager, managing multiple teams and projects with cross‑team dependencies.
  • Experience facilitating project ceremonies (stand‑ups, reviews, retrospectives, etc.).
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies beyond Scrum, such as Kanban or XP, is a plus.
  • Flexible and adaptive approach to applying the most appropriate delivery process for each team.
  • Servant‑leadership mindset and commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Proactive in identifying and removing impediments.
  • Ability to work with diverse stakeholders and effectively communicate the project‑management process and its benefits.
  • Expertise with project‑management tools, including JIRA.
Desirable
  • Knowledge of modern software‑development practices and procedures.
  • Fixed‑income or FinTech experience.
  • Project‑management or Agile certifications (e.g., PMP, SAFe, Scrum Master).

The base pay range for this position in New York is $130,000 – $170,000 annually. Pay may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Equity and year‑end bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a comprehensive benefits package.
