Job summary

Colour Sound Experiment is seeking a skilled Video Project Manager to guide projects from conception through design and specification to final delivery at our Los Angeles facility.

You will manage client relations, coordinate crews and equipment, maintain schedules, and ensure on-site operations meet the company’s high standards.

This role requires hands-on knowledge of video systems, strong communication, and the ability to work with vendors and internal teams to deliver exceptional live events.

Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of video project management experience.
  • At least 3 years of event video experience on-site.
  • Strong understanding of video signal flow and system design.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must be able to reliably commute to our Los Angeles facility.

Responsibilities

  • Manage client relationships, plan, develop, and execute projects within time and budget.
  • Maintain client contact throughout the project lifecycle to meet expectations.
  • Enter and maintain orders in OnRent RMS and relay equipment needs to operations teams.
  • Develop relationships with technical staff and coordinate staffing with Crew Booking.
  • Monitor logistics to ensure staff and equipment are onsite as required.
  • Collaborate with external suppliers for cost-effective purchases and sub-hires.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of video systems used in live events and entertainment.
  • Produce detailed schematics for power and signal per job.
  • Report on shortfalls and improvements after each project.
  • Assist and oversee technical prep of equipment for events.
  • Act as company representative and manage the video department on site.
  • Engage in continuous improvement and highlight opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards with documentation.

Job description

We are looking for a skilled Video Project Manager to see projects through from initial conception through to design and specification, and onto final delivery. The role requires a strong working knowledge of video systems, including but not limited to signal processing, LED, projection, camera systems and PPUs, playback solutions, and video switching, control, install and rigging. It also requires clear and regular communication within the company and with external suppliers and clients.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Manage client relationships, working with them to plan, develop, and execute projects, assuming overall responsibility for completion on time and within budget.
  • Maintain customer contact throughout the project duration, ensuring the project meets client expectations across the entire lifecycle.
  • Enter and maintain orders in Rental Management Software (OnRent RMS) and communicate equipment requirements to Colour Sound Experiment operations teams.
  • Develop relationships with technical staff across all departments and work with the Crew Booking Team to ensure every show is appropriately staffed.
  • Monitor and coordinate logistics to ensure equipment and staff are on site when required.
  • Work collaboratively with external suppliers to find cost-effective solutions for purchases and sub-hires when required.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of video systems used within the live events and entertainment industry.
  • Produce detailed schematics per job for both power and signal.
  • Report back at the end of each project on any shortfalls in working practices and possible improvements.
  • Assist and oversee the technical preparation of equipment for events when required, ensuring it meets the company's expected standards.
  • Act as the company's representative and manage the video department when on site.
  • Actively engage in continuous improvement, ensuring suggestions and opportunities are highlighted.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety standards, with supporting H & S documentation.
