Job summary

BWX Technologies, Inc. in Lynchburg, Virginia is seeking a Technical Project Coordinator to support end-to-end project execution by coordinating engineering, procurement, vendor activities, and resource planning.

This role provides technical leadership, prepares key project and proposal documentation, and partners with clients, finance, and engineering to drive successful outcomes and continuous improvement. On-site role with strong cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in engineering or physics is required.
• A minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience is required.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills and the ability to effectively work with others.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Scheduling Software (e.g. MS Office, Primavera, MS Project).
• Travel (0-10%) domestic and international is required.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. DOE or DOD security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Support Project Manager in the management, planning, scheduling and control of project work.
• Coordinate, document, and manage work authorizations and procurement activities.
• Provide technical and organizational support for projects including documentation, specification review, and coordination of design and procurement activities.
• Interface with finance and engineering to support project activities.
• Engage with potential vendors and provide technical oversight of vendor activities.
• Lead design activities and manage deliverables.
• Drive client satisfaction by working with the client's technical and managerial teams.
• Coordinate engineering disciplines and vendor interfaces.
• Prepare engineering estimates and technical write-ups for proposals.
