Job summary

BackOps is seeking its first Technical Program Manager to own the org’s operating system for planning, intake, prioritization, and delivery. You will define which programs exist, coordinate across engineering, product, and customer delivery, and push programs from framing to live operation.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years in technical program management or engineering, with credibility across senior engineers and architects, and a track record of growing program managers in a fast-moving startup

Qualifications

• 10+ years of technical program management, engineering, or a blend.
• Owned an operating system: planning, intake, and prioritization as a system that keeps working after you stop pushing.
• Technical credibility with senior engineers and architects; ability to discuss design and delivery risk with reasons.

Responsibilities

• Own and design the operating system for the org’s planning cadence, intake, prioritization, and programs.
• Define the program agenda with leadership and decide which programs exist and land.
• Own top strategic programs end-to-end, from framing to live, working delivery.
• Build dependency and risk pictures across engineering, product, and customer delivery and surface issues early.
• Define metrics to show program health and provide leadership with trustworthy delivery risk readings.
• Grow other program managers and shape how the engineering org works.
