Job summary

WorkGenius Group in Foster City, CA is seeking a Technical Program Manager to own end-to-end management for firmware and embedded software across sensor hardware, compute platforms, BSPs, bootloaders, and infotainment ECUs. This contract role focuses on coordinating milestones from EVT to production readiness and sustaining.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of technical or engineering program management experience for firmware or embedded software.
• Experience taking embedded products from requirements through hardware bring‑up, integration, validation, manufacturing, and production release.
• Direct experience with manufacturing firmware processes, release management, defect triage, and final sign‑off.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field; PMP or advanced degree a plus.
• Strong cross‑functional communication with JIRA/Confluence and related tooling.

Responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end technical program management for firmware and embedded software across sensor hardware, compute platforms, BSPs, bootloaders, and infotainment ECUs.
• Develop and drive firmware release plans aligned with EVT, DVT, PVT, vehicle development, validation, production readiness, and sustaining milestones.
• Coordinate across hardware, firmware, validation, manufacturing, procurement, systems engineering, and suppliers to manage dependencies and deliverables.
• Manage manufacturing firmware activities, including factory flashing, provisioning, secure key injection, and end‑of‑line testing.
• Establish program reporting, risk mitigation, defect triage, and decision‑making processes to remove blockers and communicate status to engineering teams and leadership.

• Manage manufacturing firmware activities, including factory flashing, provisioning, secure key injection, end‑of‑line testing, version control, and firmware content for hardware build events.
• Establish program reporting, risk mitigation, defect‑triage, and decision‑making processes to remove blockers and communicate status to engineering teams and leadership.

Requirements

• 6+ years of technical or engineering program management experience supporting firmware or embedded software development programs.
• Demonstrated experience taking embedded products from requirements and architecture through hardware bring‑up, integration, validation, manufacturing, production release, and sustaining activities.
• Direct experience with manufacturing firmware processes, embedded software release management, defect triage, branching strategies, code freezes, release criteria, and final sign‑off.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent embedded systems experience; advanced degree or PMP certification is a plus.
• Strong cross‑functional communication and influence skills, with experience using tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Gantt‑based scheduling tools, Git workflows, and continuous integration environments; familiarity with bootloaders, secure boot, Linux BSPs, device drivers, sensor interfaces, diagnostics, and OTA updates is preferred.
