Job summary

Milestone Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Technical Program Manager to lead software programs for consumer devices, firmware and embedded systems, based in Sunnyvale CA and Redmond WA with onsite work three days a week.

The role requires coordinating cross-functional teams, managing launch metrics, and mitigating risks across multiple interdependent programs on an 11-month contract. Bachelor-level technical degree is required; MBA preferred.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a Technical Program Manager managing software for consumer device programs from inception to production.
• Experience owning launch metrics and driving engineering teams with complex interdependencies and strict deadlines.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration across cross-functional teams.
• Knowledge of software and product development processes and best practices.
• Experience managing multiple programs concurrently.
• Experience communicating program status, risks and mitigations to technical teams and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Deliver programs within scope, quality, time and budget with multiple moderate-risk factors.
• Engage in program-level strategic planning and executive-level interactions; resolve complex issues and build teams.
• Manage internal staff and contractors to deliver systems and enhancements that meet requirements.
• Oversee scope definition, requirements gathering, time estimation, scheduling, budgeting, reporting, risk management and customer communications.

Location: Sunnyvale CA/Redmond WA (3-days/week Onsite)

Must-have skills:

3+ years of experience as a Technical Program Manager managing software for consumer device programs from inception to production

Experience owning launch metrics and driving engineering teams, as well as experience managing complex programs with high interdependency and navigating risks within rigid deadlines

Superb communication and interpersonal experience, including relationship building and collaboration within a cross-functional team

Knowledge of software development and product development processes and best practices

Experience in managing multiple programs concurrently

Experience in communicating program status, risks and planned mitigations to technical experts and leadership

Good to have skills:

Experience working on battery life: silicon, power performance, firmware, embedded software

Big tech experience

Job Responsibilities:

• Deliver programs within the constraints of scope, quality, time and budget and under circumstances involving multiple moderate-probability, moderate-impact risk factors.
• Program-level strategic planning, interaction with executive level management, complex issue resolution, excellent communications and team building skills.
• Manage a group or groups of internal exempt and matrixed employees and contractors that serve on the project(s) to deliver systems and systems enhancements that meet specified requirements.
• Oversight of project scope definition and management, requirements gathering and documentation, time estimating, project schedule development and tracking, project budget management, project status reporting, issue and risk management, contingency planning, customer interaction, and communications across multiple organizational levels.

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required. MBA or other related advanced degree preferred.
