Qualifikationen

SUMMARY OF THE POSITION: Technical Professional Services Engineer

The Technical Professional Services Engineer will support customers throughout the implementation lifecycle, from technical discovery, demos and POCs through solution architecture, implementation and delivery. The role combines customer-facing technical leadership with solution design, translating customer requirements into tailored architectures, workflows and implementation approaches. Responsibilities include leading technical discovery, demos and POCs, responding to RFPs, defining technical requirements, designing solutions, and supporting successful project delivery. The role will work closely with Sales Engineering, Product, Development and Delivery teams to ensure customer success, while following the agile software development lifecycle and aligning technical activities with the product roadmap.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Professional Services

• Scope and support technical delivery, working with management and delivery teams to define technical scope and contribute to Statements of Work and project plans.
• Act as the primary technical advisor and contact throughout implementation and rollout, managing client-facing technical engagements, stakeholder relationships and escalations, including L3 technical issues.
• Enable customer and operational teams through training and knowledge transfer, including training internal and external Operations teams to diagnose and resolve L3 issues and become long-term owners.
• Manage technical issues and backlog priorities, including triage, prioritization and lifecycle management, balancing customer requirements with Product, Engineering and Operations priorities.
• Identify product and technical gaps and develop pragmatic interim solutions.
• Develop customer-centric workflows and use re-occurring customer requirements for technical improvements and longer-term solutions.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Sales and partners, providing technical feedback, training and reusable technical assets.

Pre-Sales

• Lead technical discovery across engagements of varying complexity and timescales, including tailored demos, POCs and workshops, translating customer requirements into solutions.
• Own technical requirements and feasibility, including documenting requirements from demos and POCs and coordinating customer data, environments and internal resources as required.
• Provide technical input to RFPs and opportunity qualification, defining clear scope and requirements and ensuring alignment between customer needs and organizational capabilities.

Architecture

• Design end-to-end solutions, including internal and third-party integrations, with security-by-design considerations covering identity and access management (e.g. OneIDM/OSID, OIDC, AD) and secure connectivity (e.g. PrivateLink, VPNs, SSH tunnels).
• Own technical architecture and documentation, including architecture diagrams, non-functional requirements, POC gap analyses, implementation approaches.
• Develop and maintain reusable reference architectures and technical assets, including environment management plans, demo materials and supporting documentation to standardize and enable repeatable delivery.

EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Required

• 5+ years of experience in professional services, solution architecture, technical consulting or a similar role supporting enterprise software or cloud solutions.
• Proven pre-sales and delivery experience, including technical demonstrations, POCs, RFP responses and implementation. Ability to manage engagements ranging from straightforward demonstrations and targeted POCs to complex, multi-stakeholder engagements with varying timescales and delivery expectations.
• Strong cloud knowledge across AWS, Azure or GCP, with experience integrating enterprise systems, APIs, identity and networking.
• Strong relational database and SQL experience, including writing complex queries for reporting and analytics and evaluating technical reporting or data-management solutions.
• Hands-on experience with search technologies, including implementing, tuning and querying search indexes using Elasticsearch or Apache Solr.
• Familiarity with security best practices and strong hands-on scripting experience using PowerShell, Python and/or Bash. Container and Kubernetes experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present technical concepts to both technical and executive stakeholders and communicate effectively across internal and external teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Cloud, Kubernetes or security certifications are a plus.

Preferred

• Experience with Kubernetes and containerized enterprise applications.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code and cloud-native deployment models.
• Experience with enterprise data, content management, classification or governance platforms.
• Experience working with tools such as Atlassian Jira, Confluence and ServiceNow.
• Experience delivering enterprise SaaS implementations and working with customer, product and development teams.
• Experience with AI/ML technologies and their application to enterprise data management.
• Relevant cloud, Kubernetes or security certifications.
