Job summary

Onyx Point, Inc. seeks a senior software engineer with an active TS/SCI full-scope polygraph to design, implement, integrate and test cloud-native services.

You will build web interfaces and REST/gRPC APIs for operator data in a hybrid cloud model using containers, orchestration, and serverless components. You will enable enterprise automation for PKI provisioning, integrate with SQL/noSQL, and collaborate with platform teams to push upstream fixes to open-source projects.

Qualifications

• TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph; U.S. citizenship required.
• 12+ years of OO language experience (Java/Python/C++/Go) or 12+ years building large platforms with open source and automation scripting.
• 5 years of functional Linux experience with Docker/containerization.
• 7 years of functional experience with Kubernetes deployment.
• 2-year substitutions allowed for active CKAD/CKA or Open Source maintainer status.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, integrate and test cloud-native services for hybrid cloud environments.
• Develop web interfaces and REST/gRPC services for operational data.
• Develop, deploy, and integrate PKI certificate provisioning from APIs across cloud/vendor platforms.
• Integrate with SQL/noSQL databases, in-memory stores and S3-compatible object stores, with upstream code changes when possible.

TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION YOU MUST HAVE AN ACTIVE TS/SCI W/ FULL SCOPE POLYGRAPH SECURITY CLEARANCE (U.S. CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED)

Design, implement, integrate and test new features and capabilities for cloud native service offerings. These systems must be able to run in a hybrid cloud model using containerization, container orchestration, and function based (such as server-less) technologies.
Developing and designing web-based user interfaces to support search and presentation of operational data and developing web services that provide gRPC and REST-based APIs. Must be able to perform advanced level trouble shooting of technologies in this area with the ability of identifying, and resolving core issues through changes to code pushed upstream when possible (i.e. Open Source).

Ability to develop, deploy, and integrate across an enterprise automation software for automatic pki certificate creation from an API and delivery of that certificate via infrastructure offerings such but not limited to as cloud vendors, OpenStack, or container orchestration platforms. Must be able to perform advanced level trouble shooting of technologies in this area with the ability of identifying, and resolving core issues through changes to code pushed upstream when possible (i.e. Open Source).

Ability to effectively work with, deploy, integrate with the greater system ecosystem, and push software changes upstream to base products for SQL, noSQL, in memory and s3 compatible object store technologies (e.g. Minio) and software within container orchestration or other similar environments. Must be able to perform advanced level trouble shooting of technologies in this area with the ability of identifying, and resolving core issues through changes to code pushed upstream when possible (i.e. Open Source).

Ability to effectively work with, deploy, integrate with the greater system ecosystem, and push software changes upstream to base products for service mesh technologies like but not limited to istio, linkerd, or aspen mesh within container orchestration or other similar environments. Must be able to perform advanced level trouble shooting of technologies in this area with the ability of identifying, and resolving core issues through changes to code pushed upstream when possible (i.e. Open Source).

Qualifications:

• Within the last one and a half (1.5) years, a minimum of nine (12+) years of experience programming with at least one (1) object oriented language, such as but not limited to Java, Python, C++ or Go, or nine (12+) years of experience building large platforms by integrating open source or commercial software together with automation scripting.
• Demonstrated experience designing and developing applications in a Linux operating environment. 5 years functional experience with containerization technologies like Docker
• 7 years functional experience deploying applications to container orchestration technologies such as but not limited to Kubernetes
• An additional two (2) years of experience may be substituted for all minimum requires listed above with an active Certified Kubernetes Application Developer status. This may be stacked with active CKA status.
• An additional two (2) years of experience may be substituted for all minimum requires listed above with an active Certified Kubernetes Administrator status. This may be stacked with active CKA status.
• An additional one (1) year of experience may be substituted for all minimum requires listed above with a status of an Open Source project maintainer in open industry.
