Job description

Electroswitch is seeking a Technical Product Manager to lead product strategy, lifecycle management, and market development for our portfolio of highly engineered electrical products.

This is a hands-on product leadership role at the intersection of engineering, manufacturing, customers, sales, and business strategy. The successful candidate will bring a strong technical foundation along with the commercial and analytical skills needed to understand customer requirements, evaluate markets, develop product strategies, support new product development, and drive profitable growth.

We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in electrical equipment, power systems, utility products, industrial equipment, electromechanical products, controls, data center/critical power, or other technically engineered product environments.

What You'll Do
  • Develop and execute product strategies, roadmaps, and lifecycle plans for assigned product lines.
  • Work closely with Engineering and Manufacturing on new product development, product enhancements, technical requirements, and commercialization.
  • Gather and translate customer and market requirements into actionable product and development priorities.
  • Partner with Sales and customers to understand applications, market needs, competitive activity, and emerging opportunities.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify growth opportunities and guide product positioning.
  • Analyze product performance using sales, market, ERP, CRM, and other business data.
  • Support pricing strategy, forecasting, profitability analysis, business cases, and other financial evaluations related to the product portfolio.
  • Develop product positioning, value propositions, technical/commercial presentations, and supporting product documentation.
  • Support product launches and go-to-market activities in partnership with Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, and other functional teams.
  • Manage products throughout the complete lifecycle, including development, commercialization, growth, product improvements, and end-of-life decisions.
  • Engage directly with customers, OEMs, channel partners, and other market stakeholders as appropriate.
  • Identify opportunities for expansion into new markets, applications, and customer segments.
  • Travel to customers, industry events, and company/manufacturing locations as required.
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or another technical/engineering discipline required.
  • MBA or other advanced business degree is preferred.
  • Professional experience in product management, product line management, product strategy, or a closely related technical product role.
  • Experience with technically engineered products in an industrial environment. Experience with power systems, electrical equipment, utilities, electromechanical products, controls, data center/critical power, or related markets is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience working with Engineering and Manufacturing throughout the product development and product lifecycle process.
  • Strong customer-facing and commercial experience, including working with Sales, customers, OEMs, distributors, or other market partners.
  • Experience with product pricing, profitability, forecasting, business-case development, market analysis, or similar financial/analytical responsibilities.
  • Ability to interpret technical product information and communicate effectively with both engineering and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven product and business decisions.
  • Experience using ERP, CRM, and business data to evaluate product and market performance.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage product responsibilities across multiple functions.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
Experience

We are flexible on total years of experience and are interested in both established product managers and candidates earlier in their product-management careers who have the right technical foundation and relevant professional experience.

This is not an entry-level position. Candidates should have prior experience working with technical products and be prepared to contribute independently in a complex engineered-product environment.

Why Electroswitch?

Electroswitch has a long history of designing and manufacturing highly engineered products used in demanding electrical and industrial applications. This position offers the opportunity to work directly with Engineering, Manufacturing, Sales, customers, and leadership while influencing product strategy and future growth.
