Position Overview

Reporting to the Product Owner, this Technical Product Manager is responsible for the development, configuration, stability, and evolution of DOXA’s Underwriting Workbench (UWB) powered by Convr. This role operates at the intersection of business underwriting logic, AI document ingestion, and system integration to ensure the platform remains scalable, maintainable, and aligned with business needs across DOXA's multi-program MGA environment.

The role partners closely with the Product Owners and technical leadership to execute against the UWB roadmap. While strategic architectural direction is defined by leadership, this role owns day-to-day delivery, including vendor coordination with Convr, sprint planning, technical backlog, workflow configuration, and cross-functional implementation, workflow configuration, integrations, testing, release readiness, and production stabilization.

This position serves as the primary owner of execution and delivery for the Convr UWB platform and its integration touchpoints with other DOXA systems, ensuring solutions are effectively implemented, documented, and scalable across programs and divisions. This position is accountable for predictable technical delivery of the Convr UWB platform and its integration touchpoints, including transparent delivery plans, dependencies, risks, decisions, and release status.

Responsibilities
  • Platform Configuration & Vendor Management
    • Maintain deep familiarity with the architecture, APIs, and low-code configuration capabilities of Convr (Intake, Risk 360, and Workflow).
    • Act as the primary technical point of contact with Convr’s professional services and engineering teams to manage platform updates, feature requests, and tenants.
    • Own day-to-day vendor delivery commitments, technical escalations, platform defects, and release coordination; elevate commercial or contractual matters to IT/vendor leadership.
    • Translate DOXA’s program-specific underwriting guidelines into Convr business rules, triage logic, and data validation steps.
    • Partner with internal IT teams to maintain end-to-end system stability, API uptime, and seamless data flows.
  • Delivery Ownership and Execution
    • Manage the technical backlog including backlog readiness and technical decomposition for the UWB platform, focusing on workflow automation, data mapping, and API integration enhancements.
    • Ensure user stories contain sufficient technical detail (e.g., API payloads, mapping fields, UI rules) for efficient implementation.
    • Validate integration patterns for scalability across multiple DOXA programs, MGA cells, and divisions.
    • Own sprint planning, backlog grooming, and execution within a consistent 2-week sprint model.
    • Establish and mature Agile delivery processes, including sprint ceremonies (planning, standups, retrospectives) to support predictable delivery.
    • Manage cross-team dependencies and establish a Scrum of Scrums cadence to align plans, resolve blockers, and meet shared delivery commitments
  • Solution Design & Requirements
    • Translate underwriting and business requirements into scalable Convr configurations or integration maps.
    • Ensure technical feasibility and alignment during intake requirement discussions with new DOXA programs.
    • Assess impacts across the submission lifecycle (document intake, data extraction, risk scoring, and PAS policy creation).
    • Maintain technical decision, dependency, risk, and assumption logs for each implementation.
    • Partner with the PAS Lead to define, validate, and maintain reliable APIs and data mappings between the Underwriting Workbench and PAS Data, Testing & Troubleshooting
    • Investigate AI data extraction anomalies, JSON payload errors, and integration failures using SQL, Postman, and system diagnostics.
    • Support root cause analysis for production issues, unmapped data fields, and submission transaction errors.
    • Partner with QA and business teams to validate Convr Intake extraction accuracy and compliance with data integrity standards.
    • Coordinate end-to-end testing between Convr and downstream systems (PAS, rating engines, data warehouses).
    • Ensure repeatable frameworks such as run books, release management and SDLCs as as per standards and can scale across multiple MGAs
    • Own platform logging and monitoring, proactively identify issues, and coordinate resolution to maintain platform health, availability, and performance
  • Documentation and Knowledge Management
    • Maintain documentation of Convr workflows, program-specific business rules, and API integration maps.
    • Document system behavior, edge cases, and known platform constraints to reduce reliance on personal knowledge.
    • Establish and maintain implementation playbooks to rapidly onboard new DOXA programs and divisions onto Convr.
Required Qualifications
Experience
  • 4+ years of technical product management, business systems analysis, or platform ownership experience.
  • 3+ years of experience supporting commercial insurance platforms (e.g., Underwriting Workbenches, Policy Administration Systems, or Intelligent Document Processing tools).
  • Proven track record delivering complex technology initiatives and managing them across multi-tenant or multi-program environments.
Technical Skills
  • Strong understanding of commercial P&C insurance workflows (submission-to-bind processes).
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps).
  • Strong familiarity with REST APIs, JSON data mapping, and API testing tools (e.g., Postman).
  • Working knowledge of SQL for data verification and troubleshooting, including familiarity with data flows between SaaS vendors and core enterprise systems.
Core Competencies
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, specifically around data structures.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with underwriters, MGA leaders, and external vendor engineers.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, multi-program environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience within an MGA/MGU company managing diverse programs.
  • Experience with specialty insurance lines (Property, Casualty, Auto, D&O, E&O, Cyber, etc.).
  • Experience with digital ingestion, OCR, or AI-driven underwriting automation tools.
Key Success Metrics
  • Achieve working understanding of Convr's architecture and integration patterns within 3 months.
  • Assume day-to-day management of Convr platform configuration and sprint delivery within 6 months.
  • Successfully onboard and deliver new DOXA programs onto Convr using established playbooks.
  • Improve delivery predictability, clear backlog blockers, and minimize API integration errors.
  • Establish complete Convr configuration documentation and program implementation playbooks.
  • Align and execute a consistent 2-week sprint Agile delivery model within 3 months.
