Job summary

Vertafore seeks an innovative product leader to guide the strategy and evolution of Personal Lines Rating and Commercial Submissions, coordinating agency-to-carrier workflows and connectivity across the Vertafore platform.

You will drive roadmap priorities, collaborate with customers, carriers, design, and engineering, and explore AI, automation, and API-enabled opportunities to simplify complex insurance processes and deliver measurable business outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Proven ability to develop and execute successful product strategies and roadmaps.
  • Prior experience in P&C insurance, agency technology, rating, carrier connectivity, or commercial insurance workflows is strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of complex workflows and ability to translate them into simple, differentiated product experiences.
  • Demonstrated leadership and ability to influence across a matrixed organization, including senior leaders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to operate at both strategic and detailed levels.
  • Experience with software product management, APIs, integrations, data, or AI-enabled products is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the product strategy and roadmap for Personal Lines Rating, Commercial Submissions, and related agency-to-carrier connectivity workflows.
  • Define how Vertafore enables agencies to identify markets, capture risk information, quote, submit, and transact with carriers more efficiently.
  • Bring customer-driven, revenue-generating software products to market and manage the full product lifecycle from strategy through execution.
  • Identify opportunities to modernize established products using AI, automation, APIs, structured data, and emerging technologies.
  • Identify market opportunities through ongoing research and engagement with agencies, carriers, prospects, and industry participants.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of comparative rating, commercial submissions, carrier appetite, market access, embedded quoting, and carrier connectivity.
  • Use quantitative and qualitative data to inform product strategy, priorities, pricing, and investment decisions.
  • Lead product development and launches in partnership with Engineering, Design, Sales, Marketing, Carrier Relations, and Product Operations.
  • Ensure rating and submission capabilities integrate effectively with Vertafore’s broader agency management, CRM, data, and connectivity ecosystem.
  • Build strong relationships with customers and carrier partners to validate concepts, identify design partners, and drive adoption.
  • Manage priorities across customer needs, growth opportunities, product modernization, technical dependencies, and longer-term strategic investments.

Job Description

We are looking for an innovative, technically savvy product leader with strong insurance or enterprise software experience to join our Product Management team. This role will lead the strategy and evolution of Vertafore’s Personal Lines Rating and Commercial Submissions products, with a focus on modernizing how agencies evaluate markets, quote, submit, and transact with carrier partners.
As a Director of Product Management, you will define the vision and roadmap for rating, submission, and carrier connectivity workflows across the Vertafore ecosystem. You will work closely with customers, carrier partners, Design, Engineering, and Product Leaders to improve end-to-end workflows and identify opportunities to leverage AI, automation, APIs, and data to create simpler, more efficient experiences.
You will operate both strategically and tactically, defining customer problems, setting roadmap priorities, aligning development teams, and maintaining a well-prepared backlog. You will also partner with Go-To-Market, Sales, Product Operations, and Carrier Relations to support successful launches and drive measurable business outcomes including revenue growth, retention, adoption, transaction volume, and customer satisfaction.
You will serve as an internal and external evangelist for the products, helping customers, carriers, sales teams, and partners understand the product vision, positioning, and value.

The Professional Services (PS) and Customer Success (CX) bonus plans are a quarterly monetary bonus plan based upon individual and practice performance against specific business metrics.
