Job summary

Type One Energy in Knoxville seeks a detail-oriented Procurement Specialist to support sourcing and purchasing for stellarator development programs. You will manage POs, supplier communications, contracts, and procurement execution for specialized materials and services.

The ideal candidate has experience procuring engineered components, precision hardware, or scientific equipment, and works well in a technical environment. A hybrid work policy is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in related field.
• 3+ years procurement, purchasing, sourcing, or supply chain experience.
• Experience managing purchase orders and supplier communications.
• Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management.
• Familiarity with ERP or procurement systems.
• Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced technical environment.

Responsibilities

• Execute procurement activities supporting program development and manufacturing.
• Create and manage purchase orders, requisitions, supplier quotations, and procurement documentation.
• Source and procure technical components, instrumentation, test equipment, and other technical products.
• Obtain and evaluate supplier quotations for cost, lead time, quality requirements.
• Expedite critical orders and manage supplier delivery commitments.
• Maintain procurement records within ERP and purchasing systems.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, and Finance teams to support program requirements.
• Track supplier performance and assist with issue resolution.
• Support supplier onboarding and qualification activities.
• Assist with contract administration, NDAs, and purchasing agreements.
• Generate procurement reports on supplier performance, spend, and delivery metrics.
• Ensure compliance with company purchasing policies and contractual requirements.
