Ellsworth Adhesives, a global specialty chemical and equipment distributor, is hiring a Technical Packager for the 6am‑2pm shift in Germantown, WI. The role reports to the KitPackers ResinLab (KPRL) Division.
Responsibilities
- Operate, set up, adjust, disassemble, and clean advanced blending and packaging machinery to meet specific product and customer requirements.
- Measure, mix, and dispense adhesive products by hand or using equipment, following strict safety, quality, and procedural guidelines.
- Perform and audit material checks, in‑process inspections, post‑packaging evaluations, and clean checks to ensure compliance with applicable quality standards.
- Troubleshoot product and equipment issues, make formula or process adjustments, and collaborate with leads on complex equipment or material challenges.
- Develop and update work instructions and bills of material, train and mentor other packaging team members on technical procedures and quality expectations.
- Act as a technical resource for resolving packaging and blending issues, demonstrating a proactive and solutions‑oriented mindset.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives such as LEAN, One‑Piece Flow, Single Minute Exchange of Die, and 5S activities to optimize safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with Quality Assurance and Engineering on new product introductions, training sessions, and first‑article builds.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of production experience, preferably with adhesive blending and packaging equipment/operations.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret work instructions.
- Knowledge of basic math, ability to work with formulas, ratios, and fractions.
- Mechanical aptitude: ability to operate and provide basic maintenance to machinery.
- Follows and understands established operating and quality processes.
- Ability to follow and develop special Bill of Material and work instructions.
- Can operate under minimal supervision, coach and train staff on the technical aspects of the production lab.
- Can navigate potential technical production issues and follow through with resolutions.
- Follows safety standards and protocols.
- Collaborates with leads on troubleshooting complex equipment or material issues as needed.
- Can lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
