Job summary

Torch Technologies is seeking a Technical Order Manager to conduct research, write, edit and proofread technical data for manuals, procedures and specifications used by the Air Force. The role ensures accuracy, completeness, and compliance with government specifications and formatting standards at Eglin AFB, FL.

You will establish style guidelines, manage SGML/T.O. content, and coordinate with engineers and T.O.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship required.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree required.
• 3+ years in technical order development and DoW/T.O. systems.
• Active Secret DoD clearance; eligible for Top Secret.

Responsibilities

• Apply Air Force 00-5 Series TOs and SGML with TMSS.
• Compose TOs per TMSS and standards.
• Prepare TO changes into SGML with PCRs.
• Support urgent tasks per 00-5-3.
• Proofread TO updates for data integrity.
• Publish TOs in paper and electronic formats.
• Coordinate with TO Managers and Engineer Specialists.
• Maintain TO files in TOAP system and local repository.

Technical Order Manager – Job Overview

Torch Technologies is seeking a Technical Order Manager that conducts research, writes, edits and proofreads technical data for use in documents or sections of documents such as manuals, procedures and specifications. The candidate will ensure technical documentation is accurate, complete, meets editorial and government specifications and adheres to standards for quality, graphics, coverage, format and style at Eglin AFB, FL. The Candidate will also assist in establishing style guidelines and standards for texts and illustrations.

Responsibilities

• Apply in-depth knowledge of the Air Force 00-5 Series Technical Orders (Tos), Standard Generalized Markup Language (SGML) to include Specifications and Standards in the development and management of technical orders.
• Compose T.O.'s in compliance with Technical Manual Specifications and Standards (TMSS) MIL-STD-38784, while adhering to General Style and Format Requirements.
• Prepare T.O. change/revision into SGML, incorporating Publication Change Requests (PCRs), and outstanding supplements.
• Provide support to accomplish urgent, emergency tasks in accordance with 00-5-3.
• Implement quality assurance by proofreading T.O. updates to ensure data integrity on T.O.'s prior to final delivery for publishing.
• Support publishing and delivering Air Force T.O.'s in both paper and electronic formats, as required.
• Interact/communicate on a technical basis with T.O. Managers, and Engineer Specialists as required, for all sustainment matters while able to correct T.O. discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Maintain the latest version of T.O. files (SGML, PDF) in a Technical Order Authoring and Publishing (TOAP) system and a local repository in accordance with local program office processes.

Required Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship
• Must have a Bachelor's or Master's Degree.
• Must have experience in the execution of technical order development, and acquisition management within the DoW and with T.O. systems to include, or similar to: Enhanced Technical Information Management System (ETIMS), Technical Manual Specifications and Standards (TMSS), and Adobe Acrobat software.
• Must have 3 years of relevant experience.
• Must have an active Secret DoW security clearance.
• Must be eligible for a DoW Top Secret security clearance.

Schedule: (M-F; 8-5)

Work Location: Onsite at Eglin AFB, FL
