The TechnicalOperations Supervisor assists the Engineering Manager in overseeing, managing,and supportingtheOpticsSectionandTechnicalServicesSectiontechniciansandrelatedtechnicaltasks,includinginstrumentation and systems maintenance and mission support. These projectsfocus on DC power/plant systems and operations, Uninterruptible Power Systems(UPS) and operations, and Optical Tracking Systems and operations. This role isresponsible for overseeing the end-to-end workflow for mission supportactivities, from planning and resource allocation to final quality control. TheTechnical Operations Supervisor directly supports the Engineering DepartmentManager with technical and administrative functions, team supervision, workorder execution, and managing and enforcing administrative functions,deadlines, tasks, and quality standards, ensuring efficient, on-time completionof all work requirements.
The Technical OperationsSupervisor will lead and supervise multiple technical teams, managing workschedules and assignments while ensuring adherence to safety and workplacepolicies, and supporting the professional development of team members. The TechnicalOperations Supervisor is also responsible for developing detailed productionplans, schedules, and resource allocation strategies, as well as initiating,processing, monitoring, documenting, and completing work orders using aComputerized Maintenance ManagementSystem(CMMS),assigningtasks toappropriatepersonnel andshops.TheSupervisorserves astheprimarypointofcontactforgovernmentTestOfficers,GovernmentPointsofContact(GPOCs),andinternal departments, processing workrequirements and providing status updates. In addition, the role involvesproviding the Engineering Department Manager with daily monitoring andfollow-up to ensure the timely execution of tasks, work requests, change ordertasks, and assisting with all reporting requirements and data calls. Otherresponsibilities include researching, specifying, and procuring parts,supplies, and materials
needed formaintenance and operations, writing and submitting purchase requisitions withdetailed justifications, implementing and enforcing quality control measuresthrough internal and external audits, and documentingallqualityassuranceactivitieswhileanalyzingdatatoidentifyanddriveprocessimprovements.
Graduation froma two-year course at a technical institute or a minimum of three years ofprogressive experience in supervising engineering tasks, resourcing,scheduling, and quality control. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite andComputerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) is required, along withstrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, and excellentwritten and verbal communication skills.Candidatesmustpossess avaliddriver’slicenseandtheability toobtainandmaintainaSecretsecurity clearance.KnowledgeandfamiliaritywiththemilitaryTestandEvaluation(T&E)environmentisalsoessential. Employment will be contingentupon the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
Desired QualificationsFamiliaritywithWSMR,DepartmentofDefense(DoD)TestandEvaluationprograms,andmissionsupport activities, as well as a Bachelor of Science degree in a related field.
