Job summary

OpenAI Finance seeks an accounting professional to translate complex conclusions into scalable operational procedures, partnering with Technical Accounting, Financial Reporting and Controllership to implement processes for non-standard transactions.

You will own end-to-end accounting for financing, investments and equity arrangements, drive close readiness, support audits, and help strengthen internal controls across SOX/ICFR within a fast-growing AI company.

Qualifications

• CPA, CA, or equivalent qualification is required.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in technical accounting or related fields.
• Broad U.S. GAAP expertise across corporate accounting, financial instruments, and consolidation.
• Experience with close and reporting processes and audit-ready memoranda.

Responsibilities

• Own operational accounting for complex financing, investment, equity, and capital arrangements.
• Lead day-one and recurring accounting for non-standard transactions, including fair-value measurements and equity-method investments.
• Perform reconciliations for assigned accounts and drive issue resolution.
• Support monthly and quarterly close and ensure accurate disclosures and journal entries.
• Coordinate valuations with Technical Accounting and valuation specialists.
• Lead audit support for investments and other complex areas.
