Overview

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Technical Manager to join our Water/Wastewater group. This position can be based out of any of our office locations in New Jersey: Holmdel, Mt. Arlington, Woodcliff Lake, Mt. Laurel, or Clinton.

Water and wastewater management involves unique environmental, health, and economic challenges. Our experts understand these complexities and apply their expertise in feasibility, design, and master planning, considering water as a vital natural resource. We develop innovative solutions to ensure communities receive safe, reliable water and wastewater services.

Responsibilities
  • Design and implement wastewater treatment systems in compliance with environmental regulations and standards.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and site assessments for wastewater projects.
  • Prepare detailed engineering plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Collaborate with environmental scientists, civil engineers, and project managers.
  • Use modeling software to optimize treatment processes.
  • Evaluate and select appropriate treatment technologies.
  • Support construction and commissioning phases.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes.
  • Perform site visits and inspections to ensure standards adherence.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, authorities, and stakeholders.
  • Manage and mentor design engineering staff.
  • Scope capital projects from concept to construction.
  • Forecast timelines, prepare schedules, and meet project deadlines.
  • Find solutions to design issues related to site constraints, regulations, budgets, and timelines.
  • Oversee preparation of construction specifications, bid documents, and cost estimates for municipal projects.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental or civil engineering; PE license required.
  • 8+ years of civil/environmental engineering experience, focusing on wastewater treatment design.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D or equivalent software.
  • Experience managing and supervising staff.
  • Ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and team-oriented.
  • Proficient in English communication.
